A total gut-to-the-studs and rebuild within the shell of a vintage 1931 Spanish bungalow in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles by Tim Braseth of ArtCraft Homes. Every space was reconfigured and the floorplan flipped to accommodate 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a dining room and expansive kitchen which opens out to a full backyard patio and deck with views of the L.A. skyline. Remodel by ArtCraft Homes. Staging by ArtCraft Collection. Photography by Larry Underhill.

This is a custom home that was designed and built by a super Tucson team. We remember walking on the dirt lot thinking of what would one day grow from the Tucson desert. We could not have been happier with the result. This home has a Southwest feel with a masculine transitional look. We used many regional materials and our custom millwork was mesquite. The home is warm, inviting, and relaxing. The interior furnishings are understated so as to not take away from the breathtaking desert views. The floors are stained and scored concrete and walls are a mixture of plaster and masonry. Southwest inspired kitchen with custom cabinets and clean lines. This kitchen was once half the size it is now and had dark panels throughout. By taking the space from the adjacent Utility Room and expanding towards the back yard, we were able to increase the size allowing for more storage, flow, and enjoyment. We also added on a new Utility Room behind that pocket door you see.

A greatly expanded kitchen with a country feel. The contrasting island with cookbook storage and translucent pantry door continue the relaxed feel of this kitchen. A commercial grade gas range with stainless backsplash completes the family friendly design.

The original kitchen featured an island that divided the space and was out of scale for the space, the tile and countertops that were dated. Our goal was to create an inviting kitchen for gatherings, and integrate our clients color palette without doing a complete kitchen remodel. We designed a new island with high gloss paint finish in turquoise, added new quartz countertops, subway and sea glass tile, vent hood, light fixtures, farm style sink, faucet and cabinet hardware. The space is now open and offers plenty of space to cook and entertain. Keeping our environment in mind and sustainable design approach, we recycled the original Island and countertops to 2nd Used Seattle.

We transformed this space with all new IKEA cabinets stainless steel appliances, Zuhne plumbing finishes, and IKEA door hardware. The backsplash tile is a hand crafted Richard & Sterling tile which complements the Pental Misterio quartz. Sometimes its not about the pizazz but rather the simplicity of only a few colors, letting the textures and details catch your eyes.
