They came to us requesting a more spa like experience and a designer’s eye to create a more refined space. A large steam shower, bench and rain head replaced a dated corner bathtub. In addition, we added heated floors for those cool Chicago months and several storage niches and built-in cabinets to keep extra towels and toiletries out of sight. The use of circles in the tile, cabinetry and new window in the shower give this primary bath the character it was lacking, while lowering and modifying the unevenly vaulted ceiling created symmetry in the space. The end result is a large luxurious spa shower, more storage space and improvements to the overall comfort of the room. A nice upgrade from the existing builder grade space! We designed a bench and a niche in the shower.

This bathroom was made larger by taking over a closet in this 1930s historic home. We kept the style traditional an varied marble tile to make it interesting. The shower has a window which we frosted.

Eclectic bathroom with walk in shower.

This master bathroom renovation is a beautiful mixture of materials and styles. With waterjet cut floor tile comprised of marble and glass, a delicate damask pattern is created under your feet. The antique mirrored tile puts a luxurious spin on the standard subway tile look. What do we love most about this project? -- The layers of mirrored elements make us feel like we are in our own version of Versailles!

The large ensuite bathroom features a walk-in shower, freestanding bathtub, double vanity, concealed toilet and make-up area. The main feature of the bathroom is the Ann Sacks bronze wall tile behind the sinks with floating walnut mirrors.

Debbie Schwab Photography. The wall tiles are 12" x 12" black marble tiles I had the tile installers cut into threes. Stainless steel bars that were all custom cut are at the bottom and top of the tiles. Instead of having a standard niche that fits between studs, I had the guys frame out a wider one. Above it is another niche that is short just for housing soaps and razors. Next step is the glass.
