Download our free ebook, Creating the Ideal Kitchen. DOWNLOAD NOW Our clients were in the market for an upgrade from builder grade in their Glen Ellyn bathroom! They came to us requesting a more spa like experience and a designer’s eye to create a more refined space. A large steam shower, bench and rain head replaced a dated corner bathtub. In addition, we added heated floors for those cool Chicago months and several storage niches and built-in cabinets to keep extra towels and toiletries out of sight. The use of circles in the tile, cabinetry and new window in the shower give this primary bath the character it was lacking, while lowering and modifying the unevenly vaulted ceiling created symmetry in the space. The end result is a large luxurious spa shower, more storage space and improvements to the overall comfort of the room. A nice upgrade from the existing builder grade space! The original Master Bedroom was very small with a dark bath. By combining two bedrooms, the closets, and the tiny bathroom we were able to create a thoughtful master bath with soaking tub and two walk-in closets.

Glass tiles are installed in a stacked horizontal pattern which makes this bathroom appear larger. Clear glass shower doors add to the open feeling. The vanity and recessed mirror have great storage. Paul S. Bartholomew - Photograper

The master bath has separate sink and vanity areas with a corner roman tub set in travertine with glass mosaic insets. The spacious double shower is further accented with the earth-toned glass mosaics, encompassing the large niche and running vertically from ceiling to floor.

The master bathroom was redesigned and reconfigured for a more updated feel. We used custom handmade tiles and beautiful Lux Gold fixtures. The vanity has outlets in the upper cabinets to keep appliances hidden as well as a laundry basket pull out in the lower right cabinets. We disguised the front by making it look like the drawers on the opposite side.

This master bathroom renovation is a beautiful mixture of materials and styles. With waterjet cut floor tile comprised of marble and glass, a delicate damask pattern is created under your feet. The antique mirrored tile puts a luxurious spin on the standard subway tile look. What do we love most about this project? -- The layers of mirrored elements make us feel like we are in our own version of Versailles!
