Using gold and purple to accent the neutral backgrounds, we created a glamorous space reminiscent of Hollywood. An elegant light fixture and interesting lamps accent the gorgeous purple velvet chairs and gold leaf finishes, tied together with elegant draperies.

“Drinks Around the Clock” Art
I feel it is important to add items to your home décor that reflect who you are. You can do this by bringing in mementos from trips or family heirlooms among other things. But you don’t always have to simply place an item in a room. Get creative and find a way to turn your memento into a whimsical focal point in the room.
During a trip to Geneva, Switzerland, I noticed this cute interpretation on the room service menu. “Un Boisson A Toute Heure” was used to describe the mini bar. It loosely translates to “Drinks Around the Clock” I used blackboard paint on a canvas board then wrote the cute saying in chalk before framing in a vintage frame. The small booklet hanging from the vintage hat rack below the frame is the actual room service menu from the Hotel Bristol I brought home with me from the trip. I punched a hole in the top and attached a tiny old vintage key with a ribbon.
The antique radio belonged to my Grandfather. I have used it in many different ways around a room because it has such a tall but narrow foot print. When shopping for accessory pieces for a room or just out having flea market fun, look for furniture pieces that have unique foot prints because they can fit into areas where traditional furniture wouldn’t fit. Paired here with a more serene look, a radio like this also fits into a room with a funky retro look.

After. Original vintage fashion photography is casually arranged on black ledge. Natural linen sofa with custom velvet back cushions in moss green add to the rooms organic feel while the sculptural geometric side table in antiqued mirror presents a glamourous opposing view. Whimages
My husband used reclaimed wood to make this entire tv cabinet. The only items we purchased were the light for the inside (Ikea, $12.00) and the hammered iron handles (Home Depot $4.00).
