Lindy Design BuildThis little kitchen wasn’t functioning at its best and quickly became the biggest undertaking of this remodel. The original brick wall had not fared well over the years, and was in need of some serious structural help, so rebuilding the back of the house became our first order of business, but this let us increase the size of the windows and flood the kitchen with all that gorgeous northern light. We reimagined the layout of the kitchen to bring in some much-needed functionality, and we were even able to tuck in a beverage center. Aesthetically, we wanted the kitchen to feel bright and open, even as we utilized every square inch of storage we could get, so we selected a crisp light blue for the walls, white cabinets, and white tile for the backsplash. But we were dead set against this kitchen becoming a space that didn’t drip with charm, so we brough it handmade star and cross tiles on the backsplash (with a little pop to the beverage area tile with a hand painted design), a marble look quartz counter top, and touches of black and brass for a little glitz. We also carried the wood flooring from the rest of the home into the kitchen and designed a custom steel and wood island to bring warmth into this space. The laundry room & pantry were also updated to include lovely built-in storage and tie in with the finishes in the kitchen.
Wise Design & Remodel LLCThis colorful kitchen included custom Decor painted maple shaker doors in Bella Pink (SW6596). The remodel incorporated removal of load bearing walls, New steal beam wrapped with walnut veneer, Live edge style walnut open shelves. Hand made, green glazed terracotta tile. Red oak hardwood floors. Kitchen Aid appliances (including matching pink mixer). Ruvati apron fronted fireclay sink. MSI Statuary Classique Quartz surfaces. This kitchen brings a cheerful vibe to any gathering.
Paper Moon PaintingA boho kitchen with a "modern retro" vibe in the heart of Austin! We painted the lower cabinets in Benjamin Moore's BM 706 "Cedar Mountains", and the walls in BM OC-145 "Atrium White". The minimal open shelving keeps this space feeling open and fresh, and the wood beams and Scandinavian chairs bring in the right amount of warmth!
HERMOGENO DESIGNSThe heart of the project was the remodel of the kitchen which saw the biggest change. We removed 3 walls to create an open floor plan so we could fit a 7' island and the new dining area. We decided to mix blue and white shaker cabinets together with a boho backsplash.
G. Christianson Construction, Inc.This 1930's small kitchen was in need of expansion. It was closed off to the rest of the house and didn't fit with the modern appliances. Removing a wall and extending the kitchen into the next room created an inviting space open to the dining and family room. Replacing the white painted cabinets with natural white oak custom cabinets gave it a contemporary look with classic touches of marble patterned quartz and handmade subway tile backsplash. The open shelving keeps everyday dishes within easy reach and a place to display artwork.
Vujovich Design Build, Inc.The new and expansive chef’s kitchen showcases custom cabinetry, a three-tiered curved African mahogany and walnut island with Pietra Gray stone top and a statement chandelier, an ode to the home’s art deco roots. Classic white subway backsplash and white Carrara marble countertops line the perimeter and nod to the style of the homeowner’s restaurants. And the real showstopper? A one-of-a-kind Blue Star 6-burner gas range with custom hot pink knobs.

Officine GulloWe are in New York City, in a wonderful vintage apartment in the luxury Upper East Side district, overlooking Central Park. New York designer Julie Hillman, in collaboration with Peter Pennoyer Architects, designed a kitchen with professional performance that was perfectly integrated with the home’s eclectic furnishing full of precious vintage details.
In this elegant project, Officine Gullo created the kitchen and its furnishings by applying custom solutions
that allowed the designers to meet the needs and wishes of the client. In fact, the kitchen was designed to
be experienced in everyday life, as Julie Hillman tells us:
“We wanted a space that could act as a kitchen but could visually appear as a room. The challenge was
to separate the professional kitchen from the family space, but at the same time make it practical and in
tune with the rest of the environment.”
In the environment thus designed, the cooking area plays a prominent role, and Officine Gullo’s OG
Professional stove is the protagonist. It is a professional high-tech cooking unit extremely functional and
extremely versatile, offering multiple cooking methods thanks to its large dimensions that allow the
preparation of dishes even for several guests. The two ovens available, one static and one ventilated, allow
simultaneous cooking, while the hob is equipped with maxi burners and a ribbed frytop.
A custom-made hood, with metal frame, glass panels and LED lights, was manufactured by Officine
Gullo and installed above the cooking area. Custom wall cabinets and under-top drawers complete the
furnishings with matching design.
The large window illuminates the sink with marble top, hosting also the dishwasher. The central island
is dedicated to washing as well. Made of wood and marble, in addition to the integrated sink, it features
drawers, some of which are refrigerated.
Julie commented on the choice of materials and finishes, saying:
“I love unusual combinations of different materials, so we chose Jet Black (RAL 9005) for the kitchen and
the special finish in dark burnished brass for the frames for their industrial look, and a natural polished
oak colour, matching the same hue of the parquet, for the wooden sections.”

The design dilemma was how to incorporate the existing flooring and wallpaper the client wanted to preserve.
The kitchen is a combo of both traditional and transitional element thus becoming a neat eclectic kitchen.
The wood finish cabinets are natural Alder wood with a clear finish while the main portion of the kitchen is a fantastic olive-green finish.
for a cleaner look the countertop quartz has been used for the backsplash as well.
This way no busy grout lines are present to make the kitchen feel heavier and busy.
