Bill Fry Construction - Wm. H. Fry Const. Co.5000 square foot luxury custom home with pool house and basement in Saratoga, CA (San Francisco Bay Area). The interiors are more traditional with mahogany furniture-style custom cabinetry, dark hardwood floors, radiant heat (hydronic heating), and generous crown moulding and baseboard.
MWA, Inc.Reclaimed Cypress wood, which is naturally water-resistant, was used for the island counter top and floating shelves that were hand made. Cabinetry throughout the home was locally built with reclaimed wood or other sustainable materials. Detailed artisan applied plaster adds contrast and interest to the kitchen walls. the durable concrete sink nicely compliments the grey plaster walls.

TVL Creative Ltd.This project's final result exceeded even our vision for the space! This kitchen is part of a stunning traditional log home in Evergreen, CO. The original kitchen had some unique touches, but was dated and not a true reflection of our client. The existing kitchen felt dark despite an amazing amount of natural light, and the colors and textures of the cabinetry felt heavy and expired. The client wanted to keep with the traditional rustic aesthetic that is present throughout the rest of the home, but wanted a much brighter space and slightly more elegant appeal. Our scope included upgrades to just about everything: new semi-custom cabinetry, new quartz countertops, new paint, new light fixtures, new backsplash tile, and even a custom flue over the range. We kept the original flooring in tact, retained the original copper range hood, and maintained the same layout while optimizing light and function. The space is made brighter by a light cream primary cabinetry color, and additional feature lighting everywhere including in cabinets, under cabinets, and in toe kicks. The new kitchen island is made of knotty alder cabinetry and topped by Cambria quartz in Oakmoor. The dining table shares this same style of quartz and is surrounded by custom upholstered benches in Kravet's Cowhide suede. We introduced a new dramatic antler chandelier at the end of the island as well as Restoration Hardware accent lighting over the dining area and sconce lighting over the sink area open shelves. We utilized composite sinks in both the primary and bar locations, and accented these with farmhouse style bronze faucets. Stacked stone covers the backsplash, and a handmade elk mosaic adorns the space above the range for a custom look that is hard to ignore. We finished the space with a light copper paint color to add extra warmth and finished cabinetry with rustic bronze hardware. This project is breathtaking and we are so thrilled our client can enjoy this kitchen for many years to come!

While we adore all of our clients and the beautiful structures which we help fill and adorn, like a parent adores all of their children, this recent mid-century modern interior design project was a particular delight.
This client, a smart, energetic, creative, happy person, a man who, in-person, presents as refined and understated — he wanted color. Lots of color. When we introduced some color, he wanted even more color: Bright pops; lively art.
In fact, it started with the art.
This new homeowner was shopping at SLATE ( https://slateart.net) for art one day… many people choose art as the finishing touches to an interior design project, however this man had not yet hired a designer.
He mentioned his predicament to SLATE principal partner (and our dear partner in art sourcing) Danielle Fox, and she promptly referred him to us.
At the time that we began our work, the client and his architect, Jack Backus, had finished up a massive remodel, a thoughtful and thorough update of the elegant, iconic mid-century structure (originally designed by Ratcliff & Ratcliff) for modern 21st-century living.
And when we say, “the client and his architect” — we mean it. In his professional life, our client owns a metal fabrication company; given his skills and knowledge of engineering, build, and production, he elected to act as contractor on the project.
His eye for metal and form made its way into some of our furniture selections, in particular the coffee table in the living room, fabricated and sold locally by Turtle and Hare.
Color for miles: One of our favorite aspects of the project was the long hallway. By choosing to put nothing on the walls, and adorning the length of floor with an amazing, vibrant, patterned rug, we created a perfect venue. The rug stands out, drawing attention to the art on the floor.
In fact, the rugs in each room were as thoughtfully selected for color and design as the art on the walls. In total, on this project, we designed and decorated the living room, family room, master bedroom, and back patio. (Visit www.lmbinteriors.com to view the complete portfolio of images.)
While my design firm is known for our work with traditional and transitional architecture, and we love those projects, I think it is clear from this project that Modern is also our cup of tea.

Featuring custom bamboo cabinetry, black cabinetry with glass inserts, the most stunning and carefully selected slabs around, and the finite details of this project all came together beautifully.
Durham Designs & Consulting, LLCThe small nook off the family room is the gentlemen's bar, complete with a hammered copper vessel sink with a handle like a bucket, natural stone and glass backsplash, wine cellar, dishwasher for all the bar glasses and an under-counter refrigerator. The design on the cabinets was carefully chosen with the diamond mullions to continue with the Adirondack theme and with the chiseled edge on the granite. As luxurious as the home is, don't forget it is in the mountains among acreage and private lots full of multiple walking trails that are not for the faint of heart. This is a man's home; a place for guys to go and unwind in a posh gentlemen's club that exudes comfort and luxury, but not stuffiness.
