The open concept kitchen creates a perfect flow throughout the main living space, connecting all guests in one space.

Architectural elements and furnishings in this palatial foyer are the perfect setting for these impressive double-curved staircases. Black painted oak treads and railing complement beautifully the wrought-iron custom balustrade and hardwood flooring, blending harmoniously in the home classical interior. A modern staircase that is both curved and u-shaped, with fluidly floating wood stair railing. Cascading glass teardrop chandelier hangs from the to of the 3rd floor. In the distance is the formal living room with a stone facade fireplace and built in bookshelf.

This expansive living room is very European in feel, with tall ceilings and a mixture of antique pieces and contemporary furniture and art. The curved blue velvet sofas surround a large marble coffee table with highly collectable Art Deco Halabala chairs completing the mix.

Custom built-in cabinetry

Keith met this couple from Hastings at Grand Designs who stumbled upon his talk on Creating Kitchens with Light Space & Laughter. A contemporary look was their wish for the new kitchen extension and had been disappointed with previous kitchen plan/designs suggested by other home & kitchen retailers. We made a few minor alterations to the architecture of their new extension by moving the position of the utility room door, stopped the kitchen island becoming a corridor and included a secret bookcase area which they love. We also created a link window into the lounge area that opened up the space and allowed the outdoor area to flow into the room with the use of reflected glass. The window was positioned opposite the kitchen island with cushioned seating to admire their newly landscaped garden and created a build-down above. The design comprises SieMatic Pure S2 collection in Sterling Grey, Miele appliances with 12mm Dekton worktops and 30mm Spekva Breakfast Bar on one corner of the Island for casual dining or perching.

The project continued into the Great Room and was an exercise in creating congruent yet unique spaces with their own specific functions for the family. Cozy yet carefully curated. Refinishing of the floors and beams continued into the Great Room. To add more light, a new window was added and all existing wood window casings and sills were painted white. Additionally the fireplace received a lime wash treatment and a new reclaimed beam mantle.

The serenity of the master bedroom and sitting room is enhanced by the soft blue hues and classic glass chandeliers.
