By pressing a button labeled MOVIE on a portable wireless touch panel-the homeowner can instruct the speakers and a subwoofer in the media room to play a movie soundtrack instead of music. At the same time, a DVD player and a high-def TV activate, and the room fades to black. In seconds, the room is ready to perform. The sun plays an important part in the movie preparations, too. The homeowner requested that the media room’s windows remain uncovered to provide sunlight and view of the lake. Consequently, the only time fading lights are noticeable is when it’s dark outside. The homeowner can temporarily deactivate the room’s lighting effects during daytime viewing by pressing a button on the touch panel.
