In the living room, floor to ceiling windows frame the space and create a bright and inviting feel. We introduced a palette of deep grey, blue, and rich cognac furniture that maintain a modern feel with their low profiles and clean lines.

This luxurious living room is divided into several functional areas. The main area is designed for relaxation, warm hospitality and peaceful communication with the family.
It includes stylish sofas and armchairs, as well as an amazing glass coffee table placed in the center of the room. Colorful cushions, books, houseplants and paintings act as spectacular decorative elements.

Before the renovation, this living room was completely separate from the Dining Room in this charming 1930/40's Spanish Bungalow home. The renovation removed the large wall between the rooms opening up a great space for entertaining and family living and added windows around the fireplace, refaced the mantle, enhancing the natural light. The entry to the kitchen was made larger to further enhance the open flow of the living space of the home. I worked with the client to define a contemporary style that reflects them and to select all the soft finishes and furnishings to achieve that style. I recommended the paint palette for all the rooms. And I also consulted with them on the hardscape finishes for the adjacent hallway bathroom renovation in line with their contemporary style. Designed to embrace an extensive and unique art collection including sculpture, paintings, tapestry, and cultural antiquities, this modernist home located in north Scottsdale’s Estancia is the quintessential gallery home for the spectacular collection within. The primary roof form, “the wing” as the owner enjoys referring to it, opens the home vertically to a view of adjacent Pinnacle peak and changes the aperture to horizontal for the opposing view to the golf course. Deep overhangs and fenestration recesses give the home protection from the elements and provide supporting shade and shadow for what proves to be a desert sculpture. The restrained palette allows the architecture to express itself while permitting each object in the home to make its own place. The home, while certainly modern, expresses both elegance and warmth in its material selections including canterra stone, chopped sandstone, copper, and stucco.
