Our latest project features Matt Lacquer F&B Stiffkey Blue and Syncroface Oak, adorned with a Verona Quartz Worktop. Designed to impress, thanks to its modern, handleless cabinets, the space has a clean and uninterrupted visual flow. Our commitment to convenience is evident with the inclusion of the Quooker tap, which provides instant boiling water, as and when you need it. Our clients love the brilliance of the Bora hob, which provides a seamless and unobtrusive cooking surface. The Neff ovens, meanwhile, are yet another marker of culinary excellence. An exquisite galley-type island sits at the heart of the kitchen, offering ample workspace and open shelving to the far end – a clever design that ensures easy access to their most-used kitchen essentials. But it's not all about functionality; aesthetics plays a crucial role too. Picture an elegant, white pendant lamp gracefully suspended over the island, casting a warm glow that sets the perfect ambience for cooking and dining. Speaking of dining, our thoughtfully chosen white bar stools with backrests complement the kitchen's aesthetics and provide a comfortable spot from which to savour delicious meals. We’ve also maximised the presence of large glass doors, which flood the kitchen with natural light. In this Hell's Kitchen kitchen in midtown Manhattan, interior designer Ellen Z. Wright of Apartment Rehab NYC designed the space with storage in mind. An outcrop by the window created a narrow niche down the length of the wall that her clients didn't know what to do with. Ellen designed an 8" deep bank of upper and lower cabinets perfect for pantry and glassware storage. A wood-look tile backsplash and stone-gray floors offer an earthy, elemental vibe, and the transitional design style is great for resale value.

This Historical Home was built in the Columbia Country Club in 1925 and was ready for a new, modern kitchen which kept the traditional feel of the home. A previous sunroom addition created a dining room, but the original kitchen layout kept the two rooms divided. The kitchen was a small and cramped c-shape with a narrow door leading into the dining area. The kitchen and dining room were completely opened up, creating a long, galley style, open layout which maximized the space and created a very good flow. Dimensions In Wood worked in conjuction with the client’s architect and contractor to complete this renovation. Custom cabinets were built to use every square inch of the floorplan, with the cabinets extending all the way to the ceiling for the most storage possible. Our woodworkers even created a step stool, staining it to match the kitchen for reaching these high cabinets. The family already had a kitchen table and chairs they were happy with, so we refurbished them to match the kitchen’s new stain and paint color. Crown molding top the cabinet boxes and extends across the ceiling where they create a coffered ceiling, highlighting the beautiful light fixtures centered on a wood medallion. Columns were custom built to provide separation between the different sections of the kitchen, while also providing structural support. Our master craftsmen kept the original 1925 glass cabinet doors, fitted them with modern hardware, repainted and incorporated them into new cabinet boxes. TASK LED Lighting was added to this china cabinet, highlighting the family’s decorative dishes. Appliance Garage On one side of the kitchen we built an appliance garage with doors that slide back into the cabinet, integrated power outlets and door activated lighting. Beside this is a small Galley Workstation for beverage and bar service which has the Galley Bar Kit perfect for sliced limes and more. Baking Cabinet with Pocket Doors On the opposite side, a baking cabinet was built to house a mixer and all the supplies needed for creating confections. Automatic LED lights, triggered by opening the door, create a perfect baker’s workstation. Both pocket doors slide back inside the cabinet for maximum workspace, then close to hide everything, leaving a clean, minimal kitchen devoid of clutter. Super deep, custom drawers feature custom dividers beneath the baking cabinet. Then beneath the appliance garage another deep drawer has custom crafted produce boxes per the customer’s request. Central to the kitchen is a walnut accent island with a granite countertop and a Stainless Steel Galley Workstation and an overhang for seating. Matching bar stools slide out of the way, under the overhang, when not in use. A color matched outlet cover hides power for the island whenever appliances are needed during preparation. The Galley Workstation has several useful attachments like a cutting board, drying rack, colander holder, and more. Integrated into the stone countertops are a drinking water spigot, a soap dispenser, garbage disposal button and the pull out, sprayer integrated faucet. Directly across from the conveniently positioned stainless steel sink is a Bertazzoni Italia stove with 5 burner cooktop. A custom mosaic tile backsplash makes a beautiful focal point. Then, on opposite sides of the stove, columns conceal Rev-a-Shelf pull out towers which are great for storing small items, spices, and more. All outlets on the stone covered walls also sport dual USB outlets for charging mobile devices. Stainless Steel Whirlpool appliances throughout keep a consistent and clean look. The oven has a matching microwave above it which also works as a convection oven. Dual Whirlpool dishwashers can handle all the family’s dirty dishes. The flooring has black, marble tile inlays surrounded by ceramic tile, which are period correct for the age of this home, while still being modern, durable and easy to clean. Finally, just off the kitchen we also remodeled their bar and snack alcove. A small liquor cabinet, with a refrigerator and wine fridge sits opposite a snack bar and wine glass cabinets. Crown molding, granite countertops and cabinets were all customized to match this space with the rest of the stunning kitchen. Dimensions In Wood is more than 40 years of custom cabinets. Frank and Carolyn were looking to remodel their deck house kitchen in their little slice of heaven in Framingham. Carolyn wanted to freshen up the area with lighter cabinets, flooring, and paint. She loves nature and their home is situated on a beautifully, private, wooded lot. The kitchen which runs almost the entire back of the home overlooks the treetops. Carolyn envisioned a kitchen that blended with her deck home and looked like it belonged in her natural setting. The cabinets are KraftMaid Vantage Lyndale Evercore in Dove White paint and the counters Caesarstone Coastal Grey. A refreshed galley kitchen layout from the 90s featured new cabinets, glass tiel backsplash, recessed ceiling can lights, and stainless steel electrical outlets and faceplates—complete with integrated USB ports. Breakfast island features built-in wine cubbies. Before photo shows the previous peninsula desk—now a standard cabinet design.

This family of four wanted to open up their compartmentalized floor plan to create a kitchen that would become the center of their entertaining areas. Aesthetically they wanted to incorporate some fun elements into the design with pops of color and unique lighting and flooring selections. Although they wanted to encourage flow between their kitchen, family and dining rooms, they wanted to maintain the formality of the dining room. A structural wall between the kitchen and living areas required some creative thinking. We were able to eliminate the wall by aligning the structural posts with the posts in the basement. To open up the kitchen space and provide outdoor access, the main staircase was moved to a more central location. Hydronic in-floor heating and a ductless air-conditioning unit provide energy efficient temperature control. The new layout of the kitchen allows the cook to socialize and interact with family and guests in the family and dining rooms. A desk area was created to separate the dining area, but does not block traffic flow or sight lines. The large island offers plenty of prep space and seats four comfortably. A new eight-foot patio door integrates the outdoor space and doesn’t interfere with the functionality of the kitchen. The red tile backsplash adds a punch of color that pairs perfectly with the gray cabinets and white quartz countertop. The honeycomb tile pattern is fun and adds unexpected personality to the whole space.

This small penthouse apartment was given a wonderful nook space by creating a half moon glass bar height table perched above the cooktop island, supported with standoffs and a custom 'cigarette' base of wenge veneer. Custom swivel barstools with nickel footrests top off the fabulous spot, with swarovski crystal pendants creating both light and a bit of glamour above. Photo: JIm Doyle
