New owners of this fabulous condo wanted an interior that was as inspiring as the view. A clean and masculine design with clearly defined angles reflects the architecture of the building. White cabinets on top brightens the room, while the rich dark floor is very grounding. The bamboo base cabinets gives needed texture and warm to the home. The ultimate in uniformity was achieved in the floor when the tile seamlessly meets the hardwood.

This black paneled refrigerator brings a sleek design to this modern galley kitchen. The contrasting colors add dramatic visual interest to the space and the serving area above the stove adds the open concept that the homeowners were looking for. Here’s a view of the open pantry. Frosted glass lends it a unique, distinctive look, and its sliding doors allow for convenient access to food and kitchen necessities.

We opened up the kitchen to the entry and stairwell by removing the wall between the kitchen and the hall, moving the closets out of the hall, and opening up the staircase to the lower level with a half wall, which created a more open floor plan. We further expanded the space visually by adding a wall of sliding glass doors to the porch at one end of the kitchen, which flooded the room with natural light and pulled the outdoors inside.

This home was worn out from family life and lacked the natural lighting the homeowners had desired for years. Removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room let the light pour in, and transformed the kitchen into an entertaining delight with seating/dining spaces at both ends.
The breeze colored island stone backsplash tile (Pental Surfaces) is low maintenance and long-wearing, and pairs perfectly against the stained cherry contemporary cabinetry (Decor Cabinets). Quartz countertops were installed on the surround (Caesarstone) and island (a charcoal color with a suede finish was selected for the island to cut down on glare - Siletsone by Cosentino). Chilewich woven fabric applied to the back of the island adds durability and interest to a high-traffic area. The elevated, locally sourced Madrone bar (Sustainable NW Woods) at the end of the island—under a stunning "ribbon" pendant (Elan Lighting)—is a perfect spot to sip Sauvignon.

This cosy kitchen and dining room feels great with 4 or 14. The recycled glass mosaics sparkle in the morning sun, much to the delight of the clients. They love the direct walk-out to the deck and the fact that we hid the sink mess from the dining room. Kids love to express themselves on the chalkboard wall.

The finishing touch was the addition of the transparent single-panel refrigerator and espresso corner.
