The cottage style exterior of this newly remodeled ranch in Connecticut, belies its transitional interior design. The exterior of the home features wood shingle siding along with pvc trim work, a gently flared beltline separates the main level from the walk out lower level at the rear. Also on the rear of the house where the addition is most prominent there is a cozy deck, with maintenance free cable railings, a quaint gravel patio, and a garden shed with its own patio and fire pit gathering area.

A prefabricated concrete fire pit surrounded by built-in bench style seating and pottery with citrus on an ipe wood deck. Low water-use succulents neighbor the deck , planted in the decorative pebble. The shade sail was added at a later time due to the sun reflecting off the windows and burning the artificial grass.

A great example of how a compact backyard can be turned into a beautiful outdoor haven. With a creative approach, this small space now boasts all the main features on the client's wish list: pergola, gas fire pit, water feature and covered patio area.
The square, horizontal/vertical layout gives a modern feel, which is merges with its wooded surroundings thanks to a combination of wood, brick, stone and slate. The height of the pergola frames the landscape and creates a cosy atmosphere under the surrounding tall trees.

This sloped backyard was transformed into an outdoor retreat with terraced garden beds, natural stone stairs and an elevated patio complete with stone seating and a gas powered fire pit. Cowboy Coffee Quartzite was used to create dry stacked retaining walls and steps, topped with natural Bluestone treads. The mortar-set flagstone patio provides the ultimate retreat with a stone-clad gas fire pit and built-in seating.

In this project, we matched the existing roof line to blend the new addition seamlessly. The screened porch provides these homeowners with a year-round view of their wooded landscape . A flagstone patio and EPI deck with wrought iron railing creates several distinct spaces for outdoor dining and entertaining.

Modern glass house set in the landscape evokes a midcentury vibe. A modern gas fireplace divides the living area with a polished concrete floor from the greenhouse with a gravel floor. The frame is painted steel with aluminum sliding glass door. The front features a green roof with native grasses and the rear is covered with a glass roof.
