This kitchen has a "Traditional" design with an "Old World" twist. The kitchen is comprised of a painted cream, knotty alder, distressed door and a contrasting dark stained, knotty alder, distressed island. The combination of light and dark wood is a classic move in Traditional design, but the distressing tilts in the direction of Old World. The Counter tops are a combination of Quartz in the kitchen and an earth tone granite on the island to anchor the color palette. We kept the original brick to use as backsplash and the project is all built on "wood plank" porcelain tile. Enjoy!

A beautiful ranch house gets a make over after a flood leaves half the cabinetry in ruin. Choosing to use a sage green cabinetry with licorice highlights, a warm travertine tile backsplash, and a dark wood stained island separates this kitchen from the average home. Taj Mahal quartzite countertops seamlessly blend in the neutral tones of the room, and lending a beautiful translucency to the space. A decorative hood, under-cabinet and toe kick lighting, and hand painted tile mural all bring this kitchen into a class of its own. Silvertower Studios Photography

Aren’t these Fantasy Brown dolomite countertops fabulous? Dolomite is easily one of our top-selling stones, loved for its marble look and gorgeous gray and white hues. Many stone shops and fabricators sell dolomite as a granite, but it is a different stone entirely. Unlike granite, dolomite is a sedimentary rock made from limestone and lime mud coming into contact with groundwater rich in magnesium. It’s not as hard and durable as granite, but it’s also not as soft and fragile as marble. And while it’s less liquid absorbent and less sensitive to acids than marble, like granite it does require periodic sealing. Price-wise, dolomite is often more affordable than marble, quartz, and quartzite—and sometimes even granite.

This European kitchen has several different areas and functions. Each area has its own specific details but are tied together with distinctive farmhouse feel, created by combining medium wood and white cabinetry, different styles of cabinetry, mixed metals, warm, earth toned tile floors, blue granite countertops and a subtle blue and white backsplash. The hand-hammered copper counter on the peninsula ties in with the hammered copper farmhouse sink. The blue azul granite countertops have a deep layer of texture and beautifully play off the blue and white Italian tile backsplash and accent wall. The high gloss black hood was custom-made and has chrome banding. The French Lacanche stove has soft gold controls. This kitchen also has radiant heat under its earth toned limestone floors. A special feature of this kitchen is the wood burning stove. Part of the original 1904 house, we repainted it and set it on a platform. We made the platform a cohesive part of the space defining wall by using a herringbone pattern trim, fluted porcelain tile and crown moulding with roping. The office area’s built in desk and cabinets provide a convenient work and storage space. Topping the room off is a coffered ceiling. In this classic English Tudor home located in Penn Valley, PA, we renovated the kitchen, mudroom, deck, patio, and the exterior walkways and driveway. The European kitchen features high end finishes and appliances, and heated floors for year-round comfort! The outdoor areas are spacious and inviting. The open trellis over the hot tub provides just the right amount of shelter. These clients were referred to us by their architect, and we had a great time working with them to mix classic European styles in with contemporary, current spaces. Rudloff Custom Builders has won Best of Houzz for Customer Service in 2014, 2015 2016, 2017 and 2019.
