This residence was designed to be a rural weekend getaway for a city couple and their children. The idea of ‘The Barn’ was embraced, as the building was intended to be an escape for the family to go and enjoy their horses. The ground floor plan has the ability to completely open up and engage with the sprawling lawn and grounds of the property. This also enables cross ventilation, and the ability of the family’s young children and their friends to run in and out of the building as they please. Cathedral-like ceilings and windows open up to frame views to the paddocks and bushland below. As a weekend getaway and when other families come to stay, the bunkroom upstairs is generous enough for multiple children. The rooms upstairs also have skylights to watch the clouds go past during the day, and the stars by night. Australian hardwood has been used extensively both internally and externally, to reference the rural setting.

The heading says it all! When we first met the client, she had a portfolio of ideas all streaming from Pinterest. The entire project was designed around certain items, finishes and ideas from an assortment of Pinterest ideas folders. As the project evolved and the client was either seeing different ideas or changing there mind we accommodated every change so that the result was everything they wanted in there forever home… down to the very last design detail. The clients were able to select their slabs of stone, see samples of different finishes and test drive hardware to make sure everything was perfect. This is one of our favourite projects to date, and a fantastic showcase of what we can do for our clients and prove anything is possible.

This Californian Bungalow has been transformed into a relaxing, timeless family home. Undertaking the renovation of the existing house, the young family wanted space and an open plan layout. To achieve this, a new north facing pavilion was created along with a pool and granny flat overlooking a sun-filled garden. Designed to effortlessly accommodate the family, the renovation has achieved flow and functionality. A nod to the owners love of both traditional and modern design features was achieved with an open plan layout, refined classic style and a seamless connection to the outdoors through expansive French timber doors.
