The existing kitchen had Maple slab doors that matched the Ash wood floors making it blah....the cabinets also did not go to the ceiling. The cabinets were not fitting to the modern style of the home. A leek in the ceiling over the ovens prompted the remodel. The Client liked the existing layout - but the previous shape of the island needed to be addressed.

Using soft natural wood tones in its simplest form was the key to this kitchen design. The beloved birds eye maple that is highlighted in the uppers trip of cabinets plays well with the beautiful bamboo flooring.
Using Architectural forms is not just for exteriors but interiors also. Using cabinetry, walls and bulkheads to create this 3-dimensional look that is dramatic yet a cozy seating when the kitchen comes to life when rich spices fill the air.
FA Design Build
The kitchen features European-style, frame-less cabinets in natural cherry. By eliminating the soffits, we were able to increase the overall height and storage capacity. Oil rubbed bronze was selected for all finishes. The flooring is Marmoleum tile, in color Butter -- a "green" alternative that offers durability, unique design, and easy cleaning. The undercabinet lighting showcases the Cambria Aberdeen quartz countertop, which offers rare beauty and is the centerpiece of the kitchen. The colorfulness of the countertop is balanced with a solid-colored glass tile for the backsplash.

Kitchen Envy - Custom Kitchens
This featured project is manufactured and installed by Kitchen Envy. Whilst Kitchen Envy did a lot of cabinetry within the project, their feature items are the contemporary kitchen and entrance cabinetry.
The project is an example of contemporary design, with flat mat doors used to create a seamless look, and subtle feature handles to create interest.

The perfect kitchen for one. Everything is reachable just a step away. A full-height back-painted glass backsplash is the easiest surface to keep clean in a cooking environment. Why aren't these everywhere?!

Before this renovation the kitchen was tucked in behind a wall with only one entry from the dining room. Needing to keep an eye on two young children made opening the space up to the living room & dining room a priority. A large structural beam was placed to support the second floor & this once pokey small kitchen became the centre piece of the home. The large breakfast was a much appreciated addition to the kitchen allowing the children to do homework while mum has loads of space to prepare meals.
