Create PerfectThe new open-plan kitchen and living room have a sloped roof extension with skylights and large bi-folding doors. We designed the kitchen bespoke to our client's individual requirements with 6 seats at a large double sides island, a large corner pantry unit and a hot water tap. Off this space, there is also a utility room.
The seating area has a three-seater and a two-seater sofa which both recline. There is also still space to add a dining table if the client wishes in the future.
Higham FurnitureOur client wanted a functional and striking kitchen and utility area spread across a long single wall with differing heights due to the mezzanine. A requirement was to have plenty of storage for a growing family, a large island with no seating, a large double larder, and to have a utility section with coat storage. The client wanted a traditional look to the cabinets which we achieved with cockbeaded frames and quadrant moulding for the door panels. The space is very light and bright due to the large crittall windows so the dark blue cabinets (Basalt by Little Greene) look great. Also, the exposed brick wall adds warmth.

Clarissa and her team took out the wall opposite the sink to allow for an open floorplan leading into the adjacent living room. She got rid of the breakfast nook and capitalized on the space to allow for more pantry area.
H. Miller BrosSet within an airy contemporary extension to a lovely Georgian home, the Siatama Kitchen is our most ambitious project to date. The client, a master cook who taught English in Siatama, Japan, wanted a space that spliced together her love of Japanese detailing with a sophisticated Scandinavian approach to wood.
At the centre of the deisgn is a large island, made in solid british elm, and topped with a set of lined drawers for utensils, cutlery and chefs knifes. The 4-post legs of the island conform to the 寸 (pronounced ‘sun’), an ancient Japanese measurement equal to 3cm. An undulating chevron detail articulates the lower drawers in the island, and an open-framed end, with wood worktop, provides a space for casual dining and homework.
A full height pantry, with sliding doors with diagonally-wired glass, and an integrated american-style fridge freezer, give acres of storage space and allow for clutter to be shut away. A plant shelf above the pantry brings the space to life, making the most of the high ceilings and light in this lovely room.
Alexander TischlerThe kitchen is divided into two parts. The floor-to-ceiling column cabinets have lots of shelves and contain a built-in refrigerator and a range of appliances. The second part is a minimalist kitchen set with a sink and a cooktop. To illuminate the dining table, we made a chandelier of profile lamps mounted at different heights. Studio LarkThis kitchen renovation was part of a larger, extensive interior renovation for an existing penthouse condominium residence, located in Clayton, Missouri. The primary concept for the overall renovation was to bring architectural continuity throughout the entire residence with an edited materials palette that serves as a neutral backdrop for the owners’ extensive art collection. For the kitchen area specifically, dark flooring comprised of large-format Italian porcelain tiles is contrasted with high-gloss white cabinetry at the kitchen’s perimeter and gray-stained reconstituted veneer wrapping the island cabinetry. This neutral palette of white and gray is further enhanced with quartz countertops that include dramatic, gray veining. The custom banquette seating with built-in storage, activates the north wall of the kitchen and serves as an anchor for a new dining table and chairs. A contrasting blue velvet textile softens the built-in banquette, and provides a restrained field of color. The gray wood veneer is echoed at custom wall panels behind the banquette, serving as a textural backdrop for artwork installation. And a light, feathery chandelier hangs above the dining table with intention in mind to not obstruct views of the artwork beyond.
