This 6,500-square-foot one-story vacation home overlooks a golf course with the San Jacinto mountain range beyond. The house has a light-colored material palette—limestone floors, bleached teak ceilings—and ample access to outdoor living areas. This elegant, classic painted kitchen was designed and made by Tim Wood to act as the hub of this busy family house in Kensington, London. The kitchen has many elements adding to its traditional charm, such as Shaker-style peg rails, an integrated larder unit, wall inset spice racks and a limestone floor. A richly toned iroko worktop adds warmth to the scheme, whilst honed Nero Impala granite upstands feature decorative edging and cabinet doors take on a classic style painted in Farrow & Ball's pale powder green. A decorative plasterer was even hired to install cornicing above the wall units to give the cabinetry an original feel. But despite its homely qualities, the kitchen is packed with top-spec appliances behind the cabinetry doors. There are two large fridge freezers featuring icemakers and motorised shelves that move up and down for improved access, in addition to a wine fridge with individually controlled zones for red and white wines. These are teamed with two super-quiet dishwashers that boast 30-minute quick washes, a 1000W microwave with grill, and a steam oven with various moisture settings. The steam oven provides a restaurant quality of food, as you can adjust moisture and temperature levels to achieve magnificent flavours whilst retaining most of the nutrients, including minerals and vitamins. The La Cornue oven, which is hand-made in Paris, is in brushed nickel, stainless steel and shiny black. It is one of the most amazing ovens you can buy and is used by many top Michelin rated chefs. It has domed cavity ovens for better baking results and makes a really impressive focal point too. Completing the line-up of modern technologies are a bespoke remote controlled extractor designed by Tim Wood with an external motor to minimise noise, a boiling and chilled water dispensing tap and industrial grade waste disposers on both sinks. The mirror splashback adds a touch of elegance and luxury, while the traditional high ceilings and bi-fold doors allow plenty of natural light to flood the room. The kitchen was all designed to be integrated to the garden. The client made great emphasis to have the sink facing the garden so an L shaped kitchen was designed which also serves as kitchen bar. An enormous rooflight brings lots of light into the space.

The addition of a striking glass extension creates an amazing Wow factor to this Georgian Rectory in Kent. Oversized stained walnut doors and drawers complement the scale and proportions of the house perfectly and allow for endless storage. The inclusion of a secret door through to the boot room and cloakroom beyond creates a seamless furniture design in the open plan kitchen. Slab end quartz worktops offset the dark walnut beautifully. Ticking every box on the client’s wish list, here is our single galley layout project located in Whittlesford. The owners of this property in this beautiful village embarked on a new project, transforming their outdated kitchen into something truly special, a Handmade Kitchen Company design at its core. Defined by strong coloured cabinets and characterful quartz worktops, this design scheme brings a modern twist to our Classic In-Frame Shaker. Honouring traditional elements, it seamlessly integrates classic craftsmanship with details such as traditional cornices and a cock beaded front frame to ensure a timeless style. At the hub is a generous-sized island where conversations can take place and cherished memories can be made with family and friends. Its large proportions meant that we could include an induction hob and surface hood that was close to the versatile cooking area. To give the kitchen space a generous and indulgent colour, our client opted for this deep indigo hue – Dock Blue by Little Greene. Further elevating the design and function of the kitchen is the Heartly Grey worktop. The right worktop elegantly ties a kitchen design together and this particular one ticks all the boxes for durability and high design.
