WL Kitchen & Home
With a primary focus on harnessing the stunning view out towards the Hudson river, our client wanted to use tones and stains that would be highlighted through natural light. As a result, the pairing of light tones of white and blue helped create this sense of continuity that we were searching for. As well as the incorporation of two central islands, the choice in materiality helped create a strong sense of contrast.
Stalburg Design
This modern and fresh kitchen was created with our client's growing family in mind. By removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room, we were able to create a large gathering island to be used for entertaining and daily family use. Its custom green cabinetry provides a casual yet sophisticated vibe to the room, while the large wall of gray cabinetry provides ample space for refrigeration, wine storage and pantry use. We love the play of closed space against open shelving display! Lastly, the kitchen sink is set into a large bay window that overlooks the family yard and outdoor pool.

A tiny kitchen and large unused dining room were combined to create a welcoming, eat in kitchen with the addition of a powder room, and space left for the doggies.

In the kitchen we exposed the previously hidden original brick walls by eliminating the upper storage and swapping with chunky shelves that wrap the brick. Additional lighting onto the texture of the exposed brick brings the architecture back into the space and provides a nice contrast to the sleek slab doors. We created placement for dish storage by adding a wall of shallow drawers underneath with peg organizers. We extended the island to provide additional seating and more space for baking.
Studio Dearborn
A young family moving from Brooklyn to their first house spied this classic 1920s colonial and decided to call it their new home. The elderly former owner hadn’t updated the home in decades, and a cramped, dated kitchen begged for a refresh. Designer Sarah Robertson of Studio Dearborn helped her client design a new kitchen layout, while Virginia Picciolo of Marsella Knoetgren designed the enlarged kitchen space by stealing a little room from the adjacent dining room. A palette of warm gray and nearly black cabinets mix with marble countertops and zellige clay tiles to make a welcoming, warm space that is in perfect harmony with the rest of the home.

Studio Dearborn
A grand Larchmont Tudor with original millwork and details was ready for a new kitchen after raising the kids and spending decades cooking in a cramped dark kitchen. Designer Sarah Robertson of Studio Dearborn helped her client achieve a look that blended perfectly with the Tudor home. The kitchen was bumped out a bit to open up the space, and new millwork was designed to bring the original Tudor charm into the modernized kitchen space. A geometric Ann Sacks tile introduces shape and texture to the space, and a little modern edginess, while the cabinetry and doors reflect the old world motifs of a Tudor revival.
