Large Kitchen Design Ideas

A standout feature of this design is the kitchen layout, an entertainer’s delight for a family home. The central island bench provides a seamless flow from kitchen to dining, encouraging family and friends to come together and mingle with the chef. Situated right in the heart of the home and offers a window splash back to let the outdoors in, a lot of bench space and a generous walk in pantry.

Traditional/modern for Stu/Katie. Would be better with ACTUAL HANDLES (old school tech doesn't go wrong - if one day a drawer in this kitchen doesn't open I can't fix it easily!) Maybe "too white". The floor isn't actually floorboards - it fooled me. I'm not averse to open windows like this. - stuart_mudd

Photography: Marian Riabic The clients worked with Catherine Whitting whilst sourcing sustainable materials and products on their travels for the interior design of their home. The configuration of the three dramatic pendant lights in the entrance casts the graphic silhouette of Mickey Mouse’s profile on the heated concrete floor below when illuminated- a secret styling device only known to the owners and their intimate friends! Each element of the house reveals an architectural purpose and story that transcends the built form of a house to being a family home.

Real Property Photography. Grey and white tones with the benchtop in Caesarstone Sleek concrete create an industrial feel in this kitchen. The toning in the splashback with the open shelving compliment the lighting and soften the feel.

A simple shaker profile was used to add personality to a kitchen that combines the character of the old home, and the modern living of the new. Two toned cabinetry and benchtops highlight the subway tile splashback.
