With pale vertical cedar cladding, granite and clean lines, this contemporary family home has a decidedly mid-century Palm Springs aesthetic. Backing onto a bush reserve, the home makes the most of its lush setting by incorporating a stunning courtyard off the living area. Native bush and a travertine wall form a dramatic backdrop to the pool, with aquila decking running to a sunken outdoor living room, complete with fireplace and skylights - creating the perfect social focal point for year-round relaxing and entertaining. Interior detailing continues the modernist aesthetic. An open-tread suspended timber staircase floats in the entry foyer. Concrete floors, black-framed glazing and white walls feature in the main living areas. Appliances in the kitchen are integrated behind American oak cabinetry. A butler’s pantry lives up to its utilitarian nature with a morning prep station of toaster, jug and blender on one side, and a wine and cocktail making station on the other. Layout allows for separation from busy family life. The sole upper level bedroom is the master suite - forming a welcoming sanctuary to retreat to. There’s a window-seat for reading in the sun, an in-built desk, ensuite and walk in robe.

Like what you see? Call us today for your home renovation consultation! (909) 605-8800. We hope you are as excited to see this reveal as we all were. What an amazing transformation! This beautiful Claremont, CA home built in 1955 got a wonderful Mid-Century Modern update to the kitchen. The fireplace adjacent to the kitchen was the inspiration for this space. Pure white brick matched with a natural “Dune” stained maple mantle. Opposite the fireplace is a display will donned with matching maple shadowbox shelving. The pure white cabinets are topped with a Cabrini Grey quartz from Arizona Tile, mimicking a combination of concrete and limestone, with a square edge profile. To accent both the countertop and the cabinets we went with brushed gold and bronze fixtures. A Kohler “White Haven” apron front sink is finished with a Delta “Trinsic” faucet in champagne bronze, with matching push button garbage disposal, soap dispenser and aerator. One of the largest changes to the space was the relocating of the plumbing fixtures, and appliances. Giving the stove its own wall, a 30” KitchenAid unit with a stainless steel hood, backed with a stunning mid-century modern rhomboid patterned mosaic backsplash going up to the ceiling. The fridge stayed in the same location, but with all new cabinetry, including an over-sized 24” deep cabinet above it, and a KitchenAid microwave drawer built into the bottom cabinets. Another drastic change was the raising of the ceiling, pulling the height up from 8 foot to 9 foot, accented with crown moldings to match the cabinetry. Next to the kitchen we included a built in accent desk, a built in nook for seating with custom leather created by a local upholsterer, and a built in hutch. Adding another window brought in even more light to a bright and now cheerful space. Rather than replace the flooring, a simple refinish of the wood planks was all the space needed blending the style of the kitchen into the look and feel of the rest of the home. Project Description: // Type: Kitchen Remodel // Location: Claremont, CA // Style: Mid-Century Modern // Year Completed: 2019 // Designer: Jay Adams // Project Features: Relocation of the appliances and plumbing, Backsplash behind stove and refrigerator walls, in a rhomboid mosaic pattern, Microwave drawer built into the lower cabinets. And a raised ceiling opening up the space. //View more projects here http://www.yourclassickitchens.com/ //Video Production By Classic Kitchens etc. and Twila Knight Photo

The Brief This Worthing client sought a stylish upgrade on their previous kitchen, swapping an old monochrome kitchen for something a little more colourful. As well as a new theme, it was also up to designer Phil to incorporate a traditional element to match the style of this property, incorporating useful storage options. This client was also looking for a full flooring improvement which would help to integrate a dining and seating area into this vast space. Design Elements To suit the space designer Phil has created a great layout which incorporates all the elements of this project brief, with the bulk of amenities centred around a range cooker. Extra storage is provided in tall units that run all the way towards the dining and living area of this property. The theme is comprised of Virginia shaker furniture from British supplier Mereway in colours sea mist and pebble grey. Traditional features have been included in this project in the form of a butler style sink and herringbone flooring from Karndean. The flooring has been fitted by our expert team, and runs throughout this whole space to create a luxurious feel. The chimney breast surrounding the range looks original, but has been built out by our installation team to add a further traditional element. Phil has added further storage either side of the range in the form of discrete cabinetry. Special Inclusions A key part of this design was creating a communal feel in the kitchen. To accomplish this, great care has been taken to incorporate the seating and dining area into the design making the vast room feel connected. To add to this element a peninsula island has been included with space for three to sit. Around the kitchen, solid quartz surfaces have been opted for, with Silestone’s lusso finish nicely complimenting the theme of the space. Project Highlight To integrate the required storage, designer Phil has used a number of clever solutions to provide organised and maximised storage space. An impressive pantry is built into tall units, with corner units and a pull out pantry also in the design. Feature end unit storage provides a nice place to store decorative cook books. The End Result The end result is a kitchen and dining space the ticks all boxes. A great design incorporates the traditional features, storage requirements and extra inclusions this client desired to create a wonderful kitchen space. These floating wood shelves add the perfect balance to the salvaged chestnut backsplash on the opposite side of this kitchen. Seude finish soapstone quartz countertops add refinement and the warm shaker cabinets add a touch of classic country design. A farmhouse sink and horizontal picket tile backsplash is an effective counterpoint to the wood elements in the space. The tile's gloss finish is the perfect accent to the dark matte countertops. A large peninsula adds functional seating and serving space for entertaining. It's a light, bright and modern kitchen for a family living in their forever home.

When we drove out to Mukilteo for our initial consultation, we immediately fell in love with this house. With its tall ceilings, eclectic mix of wood, glass and steel, and gorgeous view of the Puget Sound, we quickly nicknamed this project "The Mukilteo Gem". Our client, a cook and baker, did not like her existing kitchen. The main points of issue were short runs of available counter tops, lack of storage and shortage of light. So, we were called in to implement some big, bold ideas into a small footprint kitchen with big potential. We completely changed the layout of the room by creating a tall, built-in storage wall and a continuous u-shape counter top. Early in the project, we took inventory of every item our clients wanted to store in the kitchen and ensured that every spoon, gadget, or bowl would have a dedicated "home" in their new kitchen. The finishes were meticulously selected to ensure continuity throughout the house. We also played with the color scheme to achieve a bold yet natural feel. This kitchen is a prime example of how color can be used to both make a statement and project peace and balance simultaneously. While busy at work on our client's kitchen improvement, we also updated the entry and gave the homeowner a modern laundry room with triple the storage space they originally had. End result: ecstatic clients and a very happy design team. That's what we call a big success! John Granen.

This Condo has been in the family since it was first built. And it was in desperate need of being renovated. The kitchen was isolated from the rest of the condo. The laundry space was an old pantry that was converted. We needed to open up the kitchen to living space to make the space feel larger. By changing the entrance to the first guest bedroom and turn in a den with a wonderful walk in owners closet. Then we removed the old owners closet, adding that space to the guest bath to allow us to make the shower bigger. In addition giving the vanity more space. The rest of the condo was updated. The master bath again was tight, but by removing walls and changing door swings we were able to make it functional and beautiful all that the same time.
