We chose a beautiful inky blue for this London Living room to feel fresh in the daytime when the sun streams in and cozy in the evening when it would otherwise feel quite cold. The colour also complements the original fireplace tiles.
We took the colour across the walls and woodwork, including the alcoves, and skirting boards, to create a perfect seamless finish. Balanced by the white floor, shutters and lampshade there is just enough light to keep it uplifting and atmospheric.
The final additions were a complementary green velvet sofa, luxurious touches of gold and brass and a glass table and mirror to make the room sparkle by bouncing the light from the metallic finishes across the glass and onto the mirror
Living Spaces
Creating a space that’s able to adapt from season to season is as simple as centering it with understated and sophisticated foundation pieces, like the charcoal gray Mischa sofa and warm cocoa-finished Livingston occasional tables. By selecting neutral staples such as these, you can continually swap out the accessories to reflect your evolving taste. If the sunny weather has you drawn to a summer fresh palette of yellows, blues and creams, the Boho Chevron rug – made of durable polypropylene – and the shapely Tulare Puff accent chair are bright and delightful additions.

Making Room for Peace
There are so many parts of this room that I love but honestly, the work-space ended up being one of my favorites! In a last minute decision, the day before install, we decided to lean this linen-covered bulletin board up against the wall in lieu of artwork. While we very could have well hung the bulletin board and it had looked good, something about leaning it gives it an artsy, relaxed vibe. By pinning some magazine clippings and what-not, we treated it more like a piece of art, minimizing the office vibe.

The pale blue gray walls opened up & brighten the open living/dining room. Removing the window treatments allowed the sunlight to flood the entire living/dining/entry and kitchen.
I specialize in repurposing & restyling so most of the furnishings were already in the apartment.
Little Black Door Designs
Wanting to work with the existing wall color and furniture, small changes were made to give this functional room some style. Existing club chairs and a coffee table ottoman were given slipcovers, a new rug was added and shades of blue and white were used through out.

We continued the theme and gave the fireplace the same treatment as the kitchen to balance out the room.

This room started out as a small, dingy white room with white walls, white carpet and a tiny red/brown brick fireplace. We tore out the old brick and extended the fireplace to the ceiling. White stacked stone and a custom wood mantel complete this focal point. Slate floors replaced the tired carpet, and the walls received a coat of deep navy blue paint for depth and to really make the fireplace pop.

Edwardian living room transformed into a statement room. A deep blue colour was used from skirting to ceiling to create a dramatic, cocooning feel. The bespoke fireplace adds to the modern period look.
