This full home mid-century remodel project is in an affluent community perched on the hills known for its spectacular views of Los Angeles. Our retired clients were returning to sunny Los Angeles from South Carolina. Amidst the pandemic, they embarked on a two-year-long remodel with us - a heartfelt journey to transform their residence into a personalized sanctuary. Opting for a crisp white interior, we provided the perfect canvas to showcase the couple's legacy art pieces throughout the home. Carefully curating furnishings that complemented rather than competed with their remarkable collection. It's minimalistic and inviting. We created a space where every element resonated with their story, infusing warmth and character into their newly revitalized soulful home.

This luxurious master bathroom comes in a classic white and blue color scheme of timeless beauty. The navy blue floating double vanity is matched with an all white quartz countertop, Pirellone sink faucets, and a large linen closet. The bathroom floor is brought to life with a basket weave mosaic tile that continues into the large walk in shower, with both a rain shower-head and handheld shower head.

Our Austin studio decided to go bold with this project by ensuring that each space had a unique identity in the Mid-Century Modern style bathroom, butler's pantry, and mudroom. We covered the bathroom walls and flooring with stylish beige and yellow tile that was cleverly installed to look like two different patterns. The mint cabinet and pink vanity reflect the mid-century color palette. The stylish knobs and fittings add an extra splash of fun to the bathroom. The butler's pantry is located right behind the kitchen and serves multiple functions like storage, a study area, and a bar. We went with a moody blue color for the cabinets and included a raw wood open shelf to give depth and warmth to the space. We went with some gorgeous artistic tiles that create a bold, intriguing look in the space. In the mudroom, we used siding materials to create a shiplap effect to create warmth and texture – a homage to the classic Mid-Century Modern design. We used the same blue from the butler's pantry to create a cohesive effect. The large mint cabinets add a lighter touch to the space. --- Project designed by the Atomic Ranch featured modern designers at Breathe Design Studio. This Willow Glen Eichler had undergone an 80s renovation that sadly didn't take the midcentury modern architecture into consideration. We converted both bathrooms back to a midcentury modern style with an infusion of Japandi elements. We borrowed space from the master bedroom to make the master ensuite a luxurious curbless wet room with soaking tub and Japanese tiles.

Working with the eaves in this room to create an enclosed shower wasn't as problematic as I had envisioned. The steam spa shower needed a fully enclosed space so I had the glass door custom made by a local company. The seat adds additional luxury and the continuation of the yellow color pops is present in accessories and rugs.

Who doesn't want to start the day in a luxurious bathroom that feels like a SPA resort!! This master bathroom is as beautiful as it is comfortable! It features an expansive custom vanity with an exotic Walnut veneer from Bellmont Cabinetry, complete with built-in linen and hamper cabinets and a beautiful make-up seating area. It also has a massive open shower area with a freestanding tub where the faucet fills the tub cascading down from the ceiling!!! There's also a private toilet room with a built in cabinet for extra storage. Every single detail was designed to precision! Designed by Polly Nunes in collaboration with Rian & Alyssa's Heim. Firstly, consider your space. Is it rectangular or are you working with a long, narrow room? This will determine how many wet walls you can accommodate, and if a bathtub can fit. For example, in a narrow room a freestanding bathtub may not work, and a one-wall layout that lines up shower, toilet and vanity on the same wall will make sense in most cases. (It’s also the most budget-friendly option in terms of plumbing). Maybe separate rooms for toilet and shower make sense? Maybe you want to work with a window above a bathtub or in the shower. You may live in an old house where you can keep some of the original character of the home, or you may be working with a small apartment space. All these considerations are vital in deciding on which layout will work best for you. Have a look at some popular ideas to get started.

2 Consider How You Use Your Bathroom

Once you’ve gathered some inspiration, have a think about who is using the room, and how they will be using it.
