Midcentury Beach House Renovation

This was a particularly sentimental job for our design firm. After Hurricane Mathew caused catastrophic damage to Florida's First Coast in 2016, many homes were left beyond repair. This home was virtually abandoned when Valerie scooped it up from the grave. She poured her heart into the renovation of this midcentury beachfront home. The goal was to update the house and make it livable again, while maintaining characteristics unique to the original house such as the dark window trim and vaulted beams. The furniture and decor was intended to compliment the modern structural frame with a pop of coastal colors. The open floor plan and high vaulted ceilings creates a bright and airy living space that opens out onto a multi-level wrap extended porch that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean.
