Typical of many San Francisco Victorians, this home’s kitchen had evolved over the years out of an enclosed porch. The centerpiece of the new light-filled space is a custom island / drop-leaf table that converts from a casual family dining area to an ample area for the children’s art projects, or seating for twelve. Open shelving and a series of custom ledges for the family’s seasonal canning efforts intensify the casual, working feel to the kitchen, which is both modern, yet appropriate to the essence of the home.

George Sexton Associates
George Sexton Associates provided lighting design
and focusing services to the interior spaces and
roof terrace of this NYC residence. A recessed slot
with tracks provided a flexible lighting solution
for showcasing the owner’s vast art collection.
GSA collaborated with Glasbau Hahn to design
and coordinate four museum grade vitrines.
Wallgrazing luminaires where strategically located
and integrated into the architecture to provide
lighting for a series of detailed reliefs. Millwork was
fitted with integrated lighting that is activated with
door movement. Integrated lighting was also used
under shelves and in closets.

The previous two-tiered peninsula was bulky and separated the cook from dining area. Replacing with a one level peninsula, large apron front sink and gorgeous brass faucet make the space feel more open, spacious and introduces extra seating and counterspace.
Calcatta gold drapes the countertops and backsplash and a spark of black and brass complete this sleek design.

This modern farmhouse located outside of Spokane, Washington, creates a prominent focal point among the landscape of rolling plains. The composition of the home is dominated by three steep gable rooflines linked together by a central spine. This unique design evokes a sense of expansion and contraction from one space to the next. Vertical cedar siding, poured concrete, and zinc gray metal elements clad the modern farmhouse, which, combined with a shop that has the aesthetic of a weathered barn, creates a sense of modernity that remains rooted to the surrounding environment.
The Glo double pane A5 Series windows and doors were selected for the project because of their sleek, modern aesthetic and advanced thermal technology over traditional aluminum windows. High performance spacers, low iron glass, larger continuous thermal breaks, and multiple air seals allows the A5 Series to deliver high performance values and cost effective durability while remaining a sophisticated and stylish design choice. Strategically placed operable windows paired with large expanses of fixed picture windows provide natural ventilation and a visual connection to the outdoors.

MandiCasa
This MandiCasa project exemplifies the art of making the most of petite kitchens, showing it is possible to fulfill the user’s every wish in both style and function, regardless of square footage.
For their apartment on New York’s Upper East Side, our client wanted their kitchen re-design to include a high-counter island that would open to the living room, providing a convenient area for preparing and enjoying meals. Aesthetically, they desired a more urban yet warm feel that would enhance the interior of their home.
