New Zealand country retreat

The living and bedroom pavilions are joined by an entry hall with its pair of triple stacking sliding glass doors. These can be opened in warm days to make the house feel like two pavilions joined by a breezeway. Native New Zealand flaxes buffer the outdoor living terrace. And outdoor claw-foot bathtub is anchored near the master bedroom, and an outdoor dining table on wheels sits near the BBQ. Called "campfire" an art installation using Kanuka poles and local river rock occupies the center of the terrace. Photo - John Nicholson
