Kirk Bianchi created this resort like setting for a couple from Mexico City. They were looking for a contemporary twist on traditional themes, and Luis Barragán was the inspiration. The outer walls were painted a darker color to recede, while floating panels of color and varying heights provided sculptural interest and opportunities for lighting and shadow.

Using the existing shell, we were able to transform the look and feel of the pool and its surroundings. Poured concrete, Trex decks, planters, and a fly-over bridge create an engaging space with intentional poolside social areas. Linda Oyama Bryan Photography

This pool has four different levels with the spa being the high point of the project 30" above finish floor of the house, level two is the glass tile wet deck just below spa spillway, level 3 is the main pool, level four is the lower trough which is at rear patio level. Homes that do not have the proper slopes for vanishing edges, can reverse the topo and create the negative edge that faces the house for a dramatic view, and create wonderful flows of water running towards the house and create incredible views

Our latest project, Fish Camp, on Longboat Key, FL. This home was designed around tight zoning restrictions while meeting the FEMA V-zone requirement. It is registered with LEED and is expected to be Platinum certified. It is rated EnergyStar v. 3.1 with a HERS index of 50. The design is a modern take on the Key West vernacular so as to keep with the neighboring historic homes in the area. Ryan Gamma Photography

Designed and built by Elite Pools by Scott, this Classic contemporary pool features a perimeter overflow spa and a 50' vanishing edge. Individually cut Travertine tile and coping are an extension of the homes interior. Coping overhangs water by 3" and the pool's water level was raised in order to give the extra cantilever effect. All tile is black granite. Totally automated. The in-Floor cleaning system in the catch basin is a must. Chemical readings and adjustments are done by a simple to use, hand held remote. The perimeter overflow spa is sunken into the huge tanning ledge and is 1/16" above the pool's water level. Aaron Stone Photography

Inspired by the contemporary architecture and vibrant lights and colors of the Las Vegas Strip, this previously designed, more traditional project, was transformed into a contemporary environment — built for entertaining. The transformation included removing an existing pool and paving, and working around existing palm trees. The project includes a pool, zero edge spa, fire pit seating area, fire and water features, outdoor televisions, sunken outdoor kitchen, poolside bar, underwater barstools, and a USGA specified putting surface as the lawn.
