We turned this eyesore into the envy of the neighborhood! This highly visible hillside was the focal point upon entering thru the gated entrance of this home. Now the owner and guests enjoy a seasonal display of color and texture rather than a weed filled boring hillside. Added bonus is that the plants are all drought tolerant, low maintenance and support pollinators. Bees, butterflies, hummingbirds and beneficial insects add additional interest.

Dig Your Garden Landscape Design
This sloped hillside has been transformed into a beautiful tapestry of colors and textures present in every season. I specified drought tolerant plants and shrubs that are low-water, low maintenance and deer resistant. Located in Novato, CA - Marin County. Some photos were taken just after installation and others 2 couple of years later.

LAND BY DESIGN
This beautiful curved driveway is part of an environmentally sensitive system to reduce erosion, by reducing storm water runoff and to retain rainwater on site. Made of tumbled concrete pavers it blends nicely with the beautiful natural rock retaining walls. Plantings are between naturalistic and formal to transition from architecture to the wilderness. This is a water wise landscape using drip irrigation and channeled drainage from the land.

Raised cedar beds along the Sakonnet River, surrounded by in-ground planting beds, enclosed by a perennial border. A blueberry hedge buffers coastal breezes, while a gravel sitting area offers water views from within the garden.

Mosaic Gardens
Lush plantings surround garden paths in this garden on the Southern Oregon coast. The rusting steel arbor at the top of the hill supports four fruiting pear trees. The ipe bench below the arbor is large enough to seat several people. This garden is battered by winds and browsed by hungry deer, but is nonetheless a testament to the incredible climate of the Oregon coast.
