Inspired by the luxurious hotels of Europe, we were inspired to keep the palette monochrome. but all the elements have strong lines that all work together to give a sense of drama. The amazing black and white geometric tiles take centre stage and greet everyone coming into this incredible double-fronted Victorian house.
The stunning, architect-designed new staircase, is the beating heart of the house reconfiguration. A simple, sculptural form, runs like a spine from basement to top floor. The curves of this bespoke staircase work effortlessly with the stone of the floortiles and the wood of the staircase flooring. The windows which are seen on the left and right of the staircase, open the view from front to back of the house.

A striking entryway featuring a floating oak staircase paired with bold black skirting detailing, setting a contemporary yet timeless tone.
Beneath the stairs, the space is styled with black storm lanterns that nod to the contrasting skirting, alongside an oversized pot with an elegant olive tree to bring greenery and movement, softening the architectural edges.
A sleek bench with a large mirror enhances functionality while adding depth and reflection, creating a balanced blend of style, comfort and sophistication.

Haldane UK has designed, manufactured and supplied a bespoke American white oak spiral staircase which rose through 2 flights for the refurbishment of a manse in Scotland.
Working with sketched drawings supplied by the client, Haldane developed a solution which enabled the spiral staircase to be virtually free standing from ground floor to second floor with only fixings to each of the landing sections.
The staircase featured 32mm solid oak treads measuring 1000mm, 170mm diameter solid oak spacer components and was designed to provide a 20mm clear space from the treads to the wall.
Haldane also manufactured and supplied 10.5 linear metres of 60x50mm elliptical spiral handrail which was fixed to the wall via brackets and finished with a bull nose end.

Boulevard House is an expansive, light filled home for a young family to grow into. It’s located on a steep site in Ivanhoe, Melbourne. The home takes advantage of a beautiful northern aspect, along with stunning views to trees along the Yarra River, and to the city beyond. Two east-west pavilions, linked by a central circulation core, use passive solar design principles to allow all rooms in the house to take advantage of north sun and cross ventilation, while creating private garden areas and allowing for beautiful views.
