The Mud and Wood House

The Family Room is divided into three areas: the dining area is surrounded by windows with a 9ft. ceiling - this is a bright and airy space; the lounge area focuses on the wood-burning stove (with backboiler - the only heat source for the 1400 sq. ft. house) - it is cosier with an 8ft. ceiling; around the corner (to the left) is the kitchen. It is still connected to the family room, so that the person preparing a meal is still part of the action in the family room, but is tucked away enough so that the mess need not be distracting. love the idea of Cobb construction but it's too modern looking for me
