With varying and coordinated patterns and shades of pink, this ultra-feminine bedroom is the perfect refuge for a petite princess. The unique bunk bed offers plenty of storage space for toys and collections while its large size fills the volume of a 12-foot vaulted ceiling, creating a more intimate ambiance. A nature theme flows throughout the room; crisp white paint emphasizes stunning architectural details of the arched window.

This whole house renovation done by Harry Braswell Inc. used Virginia Kitchen's design services (Erin Hoopes) and materials for the bathrooms, laundry and kitchens. The custom millwork was done to replicate the look of the cabinetry in the open concept family room. This completely custom renovation was eco-friend and is obtaining leed certification. The addition of casement windows flanking the range opens this wall up to the stunning view, bringing light and color into the space. A slight jog in the base cabinet depth adds definition to the range and hood. The far end of the island switches from quartzite to butcher block counters, creating a perfect work space.

The green of the frame to the glazing continues on the front windows, garden planters, garden furniture and is even applied to the drainpipes. Colour was an important influence throughout the house, with heritage colours picked by the client to echo a more traditional palette mixed with mid century furniture.

Mr. and Mrs. Eades, the owners of this Chicago home, were inspired to build a Kalamazoo outdoor kitchen because of their love of cooking. “The grill became the center point for doing our outdoor kitchen,” Mr. Eades noted. After working long days, Mr. Eades and his wife, prefer to experiment with new recipes in the comfort of their own home. The Hybrid Fire Grill is the focal point of this compact outdoor kitchen. Weather-tight cabinetry was built into the masonry for storage, and an Artisan Fire Pizza Oven sits atop the countertop and allows the Eades’ to cook restaurant quality Neapolitan style pizzas in their own backyard.
