The brief for the kitchen was to create as much useable space as possible in a very small area, the client wanted the work-surface and floor to be dark wood, we sourced Iroko for this. We even managed to find reclaimed Iroko for the floor and create a truly one of a kind kitchen for the client. The placement of the sink and hob were important factors in the design of this kitchen - by placing them in the corners we created a lot of extra work-surface space. The curved cabinets create cupboards without the "dead-space" usually found in the corner cupboards of regular kitchens.

This Kitchen went from closed off and dated to an open, clean-lined, functional space the whole family can enjoy! Custom cabinets in a dove white perimeter finish and white oak light stain for the island. Quartzite slab countertops provide a timeless one-of-a-kind and easy to care for look. The island is huge so the whole family can gather around and cook together. The backsplash tile elevates the entire space and this kitchen is ready for years of family memories!

What once was a small, narrow kitchen is now a light, open space that accommodates the active family. A dining room wall was moved back to allow for two deep pantry cabinets. Two new windows were installed to breathe more light into the space. A mix of finishes give this kitchen a jewel box like feel, in the textured mix of backsplashes, the gold accents on the kitchen hardware and lighting, and the oil rubbed bronze on the plumbing fixtures. The beautiful Macaubus Quartzite is a work of art in the space.
