This unique chalet style home situated on steeply sloped lot previously had no usable front yard, a narrow driveway, and aging, rotted decks. Along with the major home remodel and expansion, we brought the landscape to life again and maximized usable space.
New terraced retaining walls along the driveway both expanded the space and allowed for steps up to the front entry.

The lakeside terrace not only helps to negotiate the site’s drastic elevation change but also celebrates the client’s favorite spot on the property. Supporting the lawn terrace is a retaining wall of split-faced Michigan fieldstone that showcases a stunning example of old-world craftsmanship.

This elegant property has gorgeous views of the harbor, with sweeping stone walls that create a terraced effect. Since the house was a warm beige, I felt a bold red would really bring it to life, mixed with burgundy foliage and big, dramatic grasses.
Solomon's seal looks great with natural stone behind and Gallium Sweet Woodruff below. A bit of Gold Heart Bleeding Heart brightens is all up.

Moss covered boulders and drystack stone combine beautifully and look right at home in this natural setting. The steps are thick cut bluestone to match the stone used for the patio and walk leading to this space.
