Tuscan Kitchen gets a face lift in 2015

This is my own kitchen. I designed it back in 2001. The cabinetry is original except the piece over the main sink that has the carved wood decorative piece. I glazed the cherry cabinets with a dark glaze. We replaced the original cork floor with another - due to a flood. The walls are faux painted, as is the top portion of the hood. The lower section, between two pieces of crown molding, is a copper band with a heavy patina. The countertop on the high section of the 13 foot long island is copper. I made the kitchen table from butcher block that was being discarded at a shipping company that was going out of business. I glued the two pieces together and stained the "B" side of the wood. I then simply used a paste wax as the finish. The top has held up like new over these many years. Copper counter, two copper sinks and a copper hood band by Rachiele. www.Rachiele.com
