How to View and Manage Your Notifications in Houzz Pro
Notifications on Houzz Pro are fully customisable, giving you the ability to receive alerts for the things you care most about, and to quickly reference them as needed. Read on to learn how to find your notifications and adjust your settings to ensure your projects are running as smooth as possible.
View Notifications
Your notifications will be sent to you via email and/or mobile push notifications, depending on the settings you choose, but they are also available at all times within your Houzz Pro account. To access the most recent alerts, click on the notifications icon (looks like a bell) in the left navigation. Here you will see a preview of your recent notifications, with the ability to toggle between General and Comment notifications at the top, as well as Only Show Unread. Click See All Notifications at the bottom for a full view and expanded filtering options.
On the notifications overview page, you will see the General and Comments tabs for quickly filtering your alerts, as well as the ability to narrow down notifications by type (estimates, selections, tasks etc.), and specific projects and leads.
Manage Notification Settings
You can manage the type and frequency of notifications you receive from Houzz Pro in order to ensure you aren't missing out on anything important or getting flooded with alerts.
To customise your Houzz Pro notifications follow these steps:
- Locate the Settings icon in the left navigation and select Notifications from the menu, under Account Settings
- On the Notifications page, choose whether you want to be notified of every project (Always) or only for the ones to which you are assigned or mentioned in (Only when mentioned or assigned)
- For each row (Estimates, Invoices, etc), select the checkbox(es) according to the frequency and type of notification(s) you wish to receive
- Deselect the checkboxes for any notifications you wish to turn off
Note: Mobile push notifications are not available for all features. If the checkbox is greyed out, this type of notification does not yet exist for that specific feature.
Instant vs Daily Digest Email Notifications
The "Email (Instant)" option will send you an instant email about an action taken on a feature or document. This is great for team members who need to quickly respond to clients or communicate with other team members about specific actions.
The "Email (Daily Digest)" option will send a once-daily summary of all notifications for the features that you have chosen this preference for. This is great for staying in the loop while keeping your inbox uncluttered.
If both Instant and Daily Digest email preferences are selected, you will receive instant emails and those same notifications will be included in your daily digest.
Client Notifications
Your clients will receive email notifications for various actions, such as when you share and send documents, add comments or message them from the Houzz Pro platform. Here is an example of an email they would get:

- Client Dashboard: Dashboard shared
- Documents: (Estimates, proposals, invoices, etc): document shared, payment reminder(s), payment receipt sent

- Selection Boards: Board shared, pro commented
- Schedule: Item assigned, item marked as done
- Tasks: Task assigned, task marked as done
- Online Payments: Payment was successful, payment failed
Frequently Asked Questions
Why don't I see every feature in my notifications settings?
Notifications are tied directly to your individual permissions on Houzz Pro, so if you don't have access to a certain feature, like invoices, you won't see notification settings for that specific feature.
Can admins change notification settings for team members?
No, admins cannot adjust notifications for other team members. Each admin and team member only has control over their individual notification settings.
Which actions will I receive notifications about?
Depending on your notification settings, (whether you're being notified of every project or just assigned/mentioned projects) you may receive notifications for the following actions:
- 3D Floor Plans: Client/team member commented
- CRM: New message, meeting scheduled, meeting reminder
- Documents (Estimates, proposals, invoices, etc): Tear sheet downloaded, client viewed document, client approved/declined document, message submitted on document
- Email Marketing: Campaign successfully sent
- Leads: New message, new lead, chat/message mention, lead marked as Won, questionnaire completed
- Selection Boards: Client viewed the board, client approved/declined item(s), client/team member commented
- Selections Tracker: Excel, FF&E or spec sheet downloaded (only sent to person who downloaded it)
- Schedule: Item assigned, item marked as done
- Takeoffs: Marked up plans downloaded (only sent to person who downloaded it)
- Tasks: Task assigned, task marked as done
- Online Payments: Payment received
