About Us

Please contact me at 817-919-4900 or alfordlandscaping@gmail.com Combining the art and science of landscape construction and design. Howdy folks, my name's Brent Alford. I started mowing lawns when I was eleven and transitioned into landscape architecture and construction during high school. I had tax ID numbers before I had a driver’s license. During college at TCU I had planned on a career in the Army, these plans were somewhat derailed by the fall of communism. So I just kept doing what I knew best. Alford's Landscaping has the experience, the creativity and the style to create forward or backward thinking designs and implement/build them from the drawing board to your kitchen carving board. I take pride in the fact that we don't deserve clients, we earn them, one commission at a time.

With the extreme weather the last few years, my existing landscaping had taken a beating. I hired Alford’s to replace a rotting railroad tie retaining wall and to update most of the plants with weather resistant varieties. Brent and his guys did a great job. And, Brent saved me money on the retaining wall by reusing the cement wedges I had as edging. My landscaping is fresh and beautiful now. I was so pleased, I had them also replace part of my fence.

Brent and his guys did a stellar job replacing the fence and pergola as requested by my HOA. They not only conformed to the requirements satisfying the architectural committee but also repaired other items outside and enclosed part of the pergola—screening it in. Brent had a number of better ideas than myself after I explained my goals for this project and it turned out better than my original vision. His guys did a good job picking up after themselves daily and attending to details.

Mr. Alford didn't really do any work for us we called him on the recommendation of a neighbor for a drainage problem on the side of our home. We had received bids from three companies that ranged from $9,000 to 14,000 offering to install French drains or storm drains or regrade our back yard. Mr. Alford arrived and met our dog then he showed us photos of his. We went around to the problem area and I'm telling you he looked at the erosion along our foundation and then our gitters which looked to be in good shape. He asked us to borrow a stepladder then he climbed up and down, up and down, checking the pitch with an app on his phone. He climbed down and gave us the number of AAA gutter co. and told us to call them. At first we were hesitant but the gutter man showed us a diagram that explained what Mr. Alford had seen with his bare eyes. They replaced the gutters on the side of our home and front corner for $799.00 plus tax. Right now it's pouring down rain and we have no erosion the water is draining perfectly and our foundation is safe. As a contractor Brent Alford is a dying breed he saved us thousands of dollars and didn't take a dime himself just told us that AAA would fix us up. He's A+++

We had Alford's Landscaping pretty up our house. The landscaping had been neglected for years before we purchased the house and was was over grown or dead. Brent did a great job tailoring great looking landscaping that fit our budget and also incorporated plants that were both native and drought tolerant.

Our landscaping was in need of a total refresh, as our last update was in the late 80s. We are not gardeners and were looking for someone who could design, select appropriate plants, and recommend appropriate solutions for the heavily shaded, bare spots in our lawn. The initial work was done last year and we have been extremely pleased with the outcome. Brent Alford's follow up on our project has been outstanding. If there is a freeze warning, you can bet there will be a text message reminding us of what action to take for our plantings. We love that Brent provides us with seasonal color plantings and they always thrive! Neighbors have commented on how lovely our yard looks...it is all Brent's work.

We hired Alford Landscaping for phase 1 of a multi-phase front yard and backyard overhaul. Brent, the owner, was personally involved each step of the way. His team worked efficiently and produced a high quality product. But, what stands out the most, is Brent’s customer service. His pricing and estimation process is impressively transparent with line item detail. This made it easy for us to make trade-offs and control project scope to meet our budget. For this phase, we focused on respond flower beds, adding trees, adding lighting, and prepping both yards for an improved lawn in the spring. We iterated with Brent for about a month between doing the scope I just described versus doing more work upfront, including a potential patio redo. Brent was very helpful in thinking through the process, the order in which things should proceed, and advising us on cost so that way we stay within our target budget. We enjoyed working with Brent so much that we have hired him to do our monthly service, and look forward to more projects with him in the future.

Brent and his team were great in not only giving us advise on what to plant but extremely professional and great in implementing the work we decided on. If you need help with your landscaping and choosing what to plant, Alford's is the company to call.

Alford Landscaping did an amazing job removing our front bushes that were overgrown and replacing them with much prettier plants and flowers. This upgraded the look of our house greatly. We will continue working with them on maintaining the front yard of our house in the future. Would highly recommend to any and all looking to update their landscaping.

We couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of work and fair prices from Alford’s landscaping. His crew did an excellent job and we love the great tree specimens that Brent picked out. Our neighbors appreciate the job and have asked for his contact information. I did ask to have a tree moved 12” from where it had first been placed and it was done the next morning with no hesitation. Brent has a great eye, but also listens to his customer.

We needed our front flower beds re-planted but were dreading the project. We looked at the Alford website and around the neighborhood, and told Brent what we liked. We also told him what type of plants we liked. He took over and purchased the plants, had a drip system installed, added stone edging, and planted the beds. We loved it! Walkers stopped and asked for plant names. Plus, the Alford team provides maintenance and seasonal plantings. We might do the backyard next year!!

I have had a great relationship with this company for over five years - Brent is knowledgeable about North Texas plants/landscaping and understands the design aesthetics of the various areas of the metroplex. Because of this, Brent will guide you to make the best decisions for your project. Brent is dedicated to his customers as well - he has more than one time, stopped by to answer questions or just check on things that may need upkeep! Plus - he like to bake and if you are lucky, you will get to sample some of this culinary creations!

Commented: What kind of tree or shrub is that in the flowerbed (The big tall one?That’s a Savannah holly. You could get the same look with an East palatka holly if you want something a little smaller.
