It was brilliant to work with Alison. We needed help to design our bedroom and downstairs living area. From being overwhelmed by all of the options, Alison was able to come up with a perfect design for us and also provided contacts so we can bring the design to life. The whole process made everything really easy and was very practical. This was all within a 2 hour consultation which I highly recommend.

After many years of disagreement and procrastination, thanks to Alison, my husband and I have finally agreed a way forward with our kitchen. Alison made the process easily and provided some amazing solutions to achieve what we both wanted. I would highly recommend her.

A really great ‘Helping Hands’ consultation with Alison last week at which we discussed plans for a new loft bedroom with shower room. She managed to pull together our contrasting tastes (always the way, isn’t it?) and a challenging space to deliver a beautiful set of ideas. Alison was also conscious of cost and was able to offer alternative options that delivered the brief without compromising on style. We also loved the fact that she was based in Letchworth and could recommend local tradespeople. Overall, the consultation has really taken the stress out of this particular aspect of our project and I have no hesitation in recommending her for this type of work.

We needed help redesigning the layout for a kitchen/diner project. We contacted Alison Anderson and Fiona helped us out with the design. We were incredibly happy with the design Fiona put together - her vision made our current layout go from 'ok' to 'amazing'. We can't wait to have the room finished now. Alison was brilliant to work with throughout the course of our 18-month major house renovation project. She was able to quickly understand our style and requirements, from which she developed design plans and recommendations with great vision and masses of creativity. Her sourcing work was a critical element in the ultimate success of our project - she was a trustworthy, positive, energetic and imaginative force who gave us the inspiration to soldier on through a very difficult and complex renovation. Initially I met with Alison to discuss a full design service for a couple of rooms however we loved her ideas so much she practically redesigned the whole house. Alison is a thoughtful, creative designer with an amazing eye for colour and detail. Each room she has designed flows into the next creating a very beautiful yet functional home. Alison considers every aspect of a design, from light switches to curtain colours to kitchen layouts. Throughout the project Alison spent time asking questions regarding our own style and requirements, this considered approach was then reflected in the excellent designs she presented at our meetings. She took our ideas and concepts but then using her expert knowledge elevated them to the next level. I would not hesitate in using Alison again for any other future projects.

Alison was a godsend when we were trying to decide on colours for two bathrooms we were putting into our Edwardian house. She really helped us to decide on colours and styles for floor and shower tiles, wall panelling, wall paint and even lighting and mirrors. She went above and beyond when we called on her at the eleventh hour over a change of heart on some of the paint colours and gave us confidence in the decisions we were making. We are thrilled with our new bathrooms and literally don't know what we would have done without her!

We engaged Alison for an overhaul of the majority of rooms in our house, with the initial focus being an outdated kitchen and conservatory. Like any couple we sometimes have different ideas, but Alison spent significant time understanding our requirements (both functional and style wise) presenting design options marrying our respective aims. Then refining her design ideas in a very iterative process. We first asked Alison to design a small office space that had no natural light. She listened carefully & created a unique design that exceeded our expectations. We then got back in contact with Alison while planning our home renovation & extension project. She was first tasked with creating a lighting plan for the new kitchen & dining area. This was delivered quickly with a full explanation of her design. This really helped us understand how light can be used to zone areas correctly and how to enhance the new features we were adding. We then asked her to design the full layout & lighting plan for the main room. Once again, she delivered a design that was exactly what we wanted & even got us agreeing to a bespoke TV entertainment unit that would bring the “wow” factor. Alison has a really flair for interior design, is an excellent listener and very promptly responded to any queries throughout. Overall, we’d have no hesitation in recommending Alison for any project, from a short brief, right up to a full home renovation.

Having moved into a new home we were keen to avoid our usual 'nice but safe' look and luckily had heard about Alison through a friend. I would never decorate a room without her now! She has such enthusiasm and talent for all things home design and although we knew what kind of style we liked, her ideas abut how to bring them together into a beautiful room were invaluable to us She was incredibly professional, always reliable and worked within our budget. On top of that she is friendly, positive and her passion and enthusiasm are contagious, We had always felt that an interior designer was a luxury we could (or should!) do without but in fact the fee was almost paid for by the savings she passed on to us from suppliers and also the reasonable cost of her fabulous curtain maker. Not to mention the fact that we have 2 rooms that we (and everyone who sees them!) absolutely love! We would highly recommend her work and will definitely be using her for any future house projects.

Alison came to my house for a 2 hour consultation to discuss the plans my architect had drawn up for a large extension and renovation. She requested the plans before the visit and came with ideas on how to tweak the layout to improve the flow of the downstairs. She had listened to my main concern (the quotes for the work coupled with the size of the bedrooms may result in us spending a lot and still needing to move in a few years!) and came up with furniture solutions as well as suggestions for the architect to explore. It was excellent to have a fresh pair of eyes on things as we had become a little frozen on how best to proceed with such major works!

We hired Alison shortly after we moved into our new home - an unloved dated house - to help us with the overwhelming task of transforming it into a stylish functional home. She came in initially to help us choose colours and a style for a number of rooms but we were so impressed with her vision, ideas, knowledge and contacts we are now planning to work with her to do the rest of the house. I was quite intimidated by the idea of working with an interior designer but Ali is very easy to talk to, smart, non judgemental and brimming with passion that gave me confidence and inspiration. I’m looking forward to working with her again.

I contacted Alison because my house was no longer working for my family. I knew that the whole layout needed a total rethink and I needed to speak to someone who could provided expert advice on remodelling. During her visit Alison poured over architects plans with me, discussed every room at length and how we use the space. She was buzzing with ideas and suggestions, giving pros and cons for different options. Crucially by the end of our 2 hour meeting I had a clear plan of action! I knew which steps I needed to take to make the best choices for our renovation. I feel like the path ahead is much clearer and we have avoided pitfalls before we’ve even started! I was lucky enough to discover Alison through instagram and am very pleased to have opted for her 'Helping Hand' design package. We have various storage conundrums and with seemingly infinite ways of solving them (none of which seemed quite ideal) it was incredibly useful to have Alison's experienced, practical and creative ideas to narrow things down. I now feel much braver and look forward to taking the plunge!
