We worked with DB Atlanta to build an addition onto our home (a new master bedroom, bathroom, and closet; as well as a secondary bathroom). Overall, the process from initial phone call to the last walk through was incredibly smooth. Through our conversations with Dave (the architect), he thoughtfully laid out a plan that exceed our expectations and got us the space we so desperately needed. The 3D renderings allowed us to visualize what the space would look like -- and the final product was remarkably like the pictures!! Every step of the way was smooth -- Design was simple as Brenda took our vision and found materials that matched this, permitting was handled entirely by DB, and the overall build process was efficient and free of major problems. Our project manager, David, was passionate about his work and has an eye for detail which ensures a high quality final product. While living through an addition with an infant and two dogs could have been a nightmare, the folks at DB Atlanta made it work well. We are incredibly grateful for their hard work in making our house into a home. Highly recommend DB Atlanta for your home renovation needs.

My wife and I contracted dB Atlanta last August to design and build a screened porch on our newly purchased 20 year old house. We had contacted another firm who told us the proposed porch area was too low. dB Atlanta came in with an architect who drew up a plan which we loved. Many many months later, the plan turned out to have a 23" error and major work had to be done to an upstairs bedroom window just to make the project work, albeit not what we wanted at first, they did cover this extra cost. On top of this, some of the subcontractors were messy and disrespectful. and almost never there. 9 months later, it still not done.

Bill, I’m very sorry that you feel this way. Honestly we are a bit confused, and very much want to discuss details with you to ensure we’re on the same page as the information here is not commiserate with our direct discussions. Our permit was issued on 1/4/21 and site Pre-Construction Meeting occurred on 1/14/21. We started on the project approximately a week after that. We’re very near completion and should be fully complete by the end of next week for a job duration of just over 3 months.

That said, your satisfaction is our primary concern. We would like to discuss any concerns in detail. I do understand the roof design issue discovered was an unexpected setback. It is often difficult to fit porch gable roof planes under 2nd story windows and maintain enough slope for a conventional asphalt shingle roof and we did have a miscalculation there with our design. In our discussions and review of resolution, we designed a custom window seat and additional custom window set in the upstairs bedroom bay. Although I understand it was not the original design, I do believe that the ultimate outcome was even more beautiful and custom-tailored to your space. As you noted, we absorbed the expense of that custom feature to ensure you’re ultimate satisfaction and to stand behind our work and ethics, and own our error and leave the finished result better than originally planned.

Our current completion list and list to complete is in very good shape with a beautiful build nearing final completion. We’d like to ensure that you feel the same and enjoy your new outdoor living and indoor features that are now part of your home.
We welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you further as we bring the project to completion. We are very proud of the end result as depicted in the attached photo.

After speaking with several remodeling companies and tirelessly reading reviews, we knew DB Atlanta would be the best company to finish our basement. This finished basement project included a full bathroom, wet bar, billiards area, and a home gym. With the stress of Covid on top of what comes with a remodel, we didn't want the hassle of having to secure permits or finding sub-contractors to do part of the work. With DB Atlanta, they did all the work for us and that was half the battle. They provided a great Project Manager who led us step by step through the process and a wonderful designer that helped bring our ideas to life; all while making sure we stayed within budget. My husband and I had great communication with our Project Manager through the entire build process and we completely trusted his opinion when it came to design and technical steps of the process. The finished product is more than we ever dreamed it would be. We are very pleased to have had to opportunity to work with such a high quality company. I have already recommended them to my neighbors and will be using them again for our next project.

DB was a pleasure to work with.on our project. DB built a structured heated and cooled sunroom as an additional living space to our home, DB was professional from day 1, constant communication, always reachable, timely updated invoices, project manager kept his time table and was meticulous about the quality of work performed and was on the job site daily. Most importantly DB kept to the contract price, with no cost surprises along the way Very pleased with my experience. Would rate DB a #10 and would hire again

We did lots of homework in prep for our renovation which included the removal of two walls. I had 3 quotes from reputable businesses . Direct Build was right in the middle price wise . The cheapest did not have a carpenter. The most expensive involved redoing a bathroom which we had already renovated. I think I chose DB as they had full service including a kitchen designer and a interior designer and carpenter. I was pleased that the design was well thought out and very functional. I was also pleased that in 10 weeks someone was working every day but one!! They came I right at budget. My kitchen is perfect and a dream come true. This floor plan made much more sense that the original floor plan. I went from having a small dark closed off kitchen to a large, open concept and white kitchen with loads of light, counter tops, and drawers. I always wanted an island. But in reality the large table sized peninsula we chose, was a more functional relating to the ‘magic triangle’ of sink, stove and fridge. What can I say about beautiful white tall cabinets, farmhouse sink, coffee bar with another large sink, stunning countertops for over the top and abundance of workspace. I had a site manager who listened to me and addressed anything concerning me during the work phase. It’s really like having a new house without moving. A major renovation is like indoor camping. It was hard, inconvenient and at times frustrating. But worthy it all. We would recommend Direct Build in a heart beat. And I may use them again for master bath and closet if I can get my husband on board.

After a major house renovation completed by DB Atlanta (Direct Build), we wanted a detached garage built and once again turned to DB. We had the same foreman (Bill S) who was onsite daily overseeing the work and jumping in to assist when necessary. We gave our crude drawings to DB and they polished them up and built a beautiful building (26x32) that compliments our traditional two-story home. We have received numerous compliments and could not be more pleased. All sub-contractors were professional and did great work. We highly recommend DB Atlanta!

Workmanship on this multi-room remodel was outstanding. Project involved complete kitchen remodel, laundry/mud room and basement. Direct Build offered fabulous design ideas on everything from cabinets to lighting to fixtures. They were especially judicious about working within budget even though we increased the budget and the scope several times. Post remodel follow up was very positive. By way of example, had problems with back lighting in cabinets which resulted in entire system being replaced - Direct Build covered it all. Very knowledgeable project managers kept the project moving from start to finish.
