Public Realm Lab

We live in a art deco building in Melbourne and we are updating our bathroom after 26years - so its the original bathroom which was fine but was looking tired. We decided we wanted to have a bigger bath to enjoy those deep soaks after a day in the city and create a spa sanctuary of our own. The original bathroom also had a laundry in it which we can now move under the stairs. This allows the bathroom to be less tight and be able to include a bath, shower, vanity and toilet. We have Phil and Anna involved in the this process to help us create this beautiful bathroom. Phil and Anna have joined forces and together they create, inspire and deliver on their promise! Phil and Anna have understood what we want and are in the process of drawing up this magnificent bathroom for us. We are particular so we have asked them to include our ideas as well so we can see to scale how our vision will look also and discuss and change/amend again. Phil and Anna understand the process and they are great to deal with. Along the journey, they have guided and advised us and also taking on board our ideas without being annoyed with us. We really like working with Phil and Anna and cant wait to see the finished result. :)

We worked with Phil on a project that was very important to us. Andrea and I had a great Edwardian home with the classic add-on at the back which was a large kitchen/lounge facing the yard and garage. Phil helped us to convert the redundant garage into a cool bedroom/living space for the big kids and renovate the kitchen space. A simple veranda linked it all together. When we sold the house several years later the positive impact of Phil's upgrade on the sale price was enormous. Phil and his team are knowledgeable and passionate and we would commend them to anyone looking for creative and customised solutions.

Phil and Anna approached us to build a little off-grid weekender in the Strathbogies. The end result is the most elegant shed we’ve ever built. The design uses our standard components in an original way and arranged beautifully on the site. Phil was great to deal with throughout the project from design through to construction. Philip Ward designed an extension for my home. He was thoughtful, respectful, instightful and reliable. His ability to guide us through the process was remarkable as was his final design. Fifteen years on people are still commenting on the beauty of the extension.

We absolutely love the outdoor environment that PRL designed for us. We found the team to be excellent listeners and valued the time and energy that they took to understand how our family would best use the space. They were collaborative with the builders and had open lines of dialogue with us throughout the entire process. We thoroughly enjoyed working with them.
