Our original plan was to add an addition to the back of the house, in order to have a bathroom on the 1st floor. After discussing our hopes, desires, and priorities with Brian Arbuckle, we came up with a creative solution that allowed us to add the desired bathroom to the 1st floor, without changing the footprint of the house! In addition to the bathroom, we were able to completely renovate the 1st floor of our 1911 home: fixing old plaster walls and ceilings, making an unusable section of an enclosed porch part of the interior living space, replacing windows, repairing and replacing woodwork in the original style, installing in-floor heating in some areas, and refinishing wooden floors ... all for about the same amount of money that we had thought we'd need to spend on a new addition! Brian was a wonderful resource for ideas and his sub-contractors that did the work were top-notch. Our remodel took place at a time when our neighborhood was being considered as an historic area, so there were additional hoops to jump through to get permits and work approvals. Brian handled all of that for us and helped us work out last minute adjustments with good grace, cheer, and a willingness to be as transparent about the work as we needed/wanted. We are thrilled with our open, airy spaces and beautiful workmanship every time we walk into the house.

We had an excellent experience remodeling our kitchen with Arbuckle Design Builders. Everyone involved was very professional and attentive. All of our design needs were met and we could not be happier with the end result.
