I'm an architect and was searching for a kitchen carpenter for my own home. Brice was highly recommended by another associate. I hired him and was very satisfied and impressed with his enthusiasm, quality, and attention to detail. The outcome was beautiful craftsmanship! I would definitely use him in the future.

The unique thing about enlisting the services of Detroit House Carpentry is that you are getting a designer, a builder and an architect all in one. Brice designed the layout of my complete kitchen renovation and had several indispensable suggestions and tweaks to the design. His attention to detail and adherence to perfection is something to behold. The materials he works with are second to none, leaning heavily toward non-toxic, responsible finishes. His craftsmanship is something that is very difficult to even find today, let alone afford. Brice kept the project within the budget we had discussed at the beginning and is very communicative and prompt. I cannot recommend DHC enough. I now have a stunning kitchen that will last 100 more years.

Brice did an excellent job on 100% of the doors and cabinets for our new home. His fine craftsmanship is superb, and he's a delight to work with. The photos are from the main floor where the wood species is primarily quarter-sawn white oak, and kitchen cabinets are painted poplar. All wood is 100% Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified, sustainably grown locally (all of which Brice sourced). He also did all our lower level doors and cabinets in painted poplar. Brice worked on the project by moving his equipment to setup shop in our barn, working there for almost 1 year. It was a very large project, and Brice produced a large volume of high quality doors, cabinets, and counter tops. My wife and I highly recommend him for this type of top quality cabinet and door crafting.

Brice was creative and thoughtful with his ideas about the project in our home and his craftsmanship was simply exceptional. We are very pleased with the cabinets, bookcases and mantle he developed for our family room. They look beautiful and have dramatically changed the look and feel of the room. His ideas exceeded, but complemented, our own vision. The project ended up costing us more than we had originally estimated, reflecting a much grander style and appearance than I first described, but in this case the extra expense was more than justified by the resulting outcome.

Detroit House Carpentry completed several projects in my house. Shelvings/desks for my kids bedrooms, remodeled a bathroom, walkin closet, desk, shelving and cabintes in the master bedroom. Brice was extremely professional and knowledgeable, he really brought my vision to life and was able to provide recommendations for the design and the material to be used. He met my budget and timing for every project. Brice has a great attitude and is awesome to work with. I am looking forward to be able to hire Brice again for more projects.

Brice made and installed custom kitchen cabinets, a large built in bookcase, and sitting room and master bedroom built ins. The quality of the workmanship and concern for detail was top notch. Everything was done in a timely fashion and he handled the usual time and change order hiccups with grace, working well to amend his timeline and with the other trades on the job. There was also a fair amount of custom, old growth wood and mill work that we wanted in many of these pieces. He helped us source it at very competitive prices. I recommend him without qualification.

Brice redesigned a wall of cabinets and stairway wall that were damaged in last year's flood. The new cabinets are beautifully designed and executed. His craftsmanship is outstanding.
