When you work with us, you'll gain from the experience of our in-house team of experts. You'll have access to our professional in-house designer, project manager, and experienced construction team. All under one roof. We manage the project and all its contractors on your behalf. From our first conversation through the finishing touches. That means less stress for you and minimal disruption to your busy life. Before we start to design and build your dream home or remodeling project, we'll spend time with you to understand what's important. Together, we'll explore the details and start sharing ideas and plans. Our concept drawings, blueprints, and 3D renderings show you how ideas will come to life in your home. We build custom homes, remodeling projects, home additions, and light commercial spaces. We're a local family-owned company working for families in the Springfield, Illinois area. We also have handyman services, no job is too small!

We did a complete remodel on our lake house and were extremely happy with the results. A great company to work with. I use them often for smaller jobs. I highly recommend them.

The team at Michael Von Behren Builder, Inc., did a fabulous job designing, coordinating, and overseeing a complete kitchen remodel in my home. I can't say enough about Lynn Alewelt, who came up with a great design and helped me pick everything out. Everyone on the team was very professional and did a great job. Whenever I had a question, I received prompt attention. The job was finished timely, exceeded my expectations, and was within the estimate. I highly recommend this team.

Michael Von Behren Builders was the general contractor for a flawlessly executed remodel of our small office building during the 1st and 2nd quarter of 2018. The remodel included flooring, painting, new ceiling tile, moving a wall, layout and install of new kitchen/breakroom, electrical, and plumbing. Our project manager, Jared, was attentive and responsive to all of the questions we had during the project and worked with me so that we did not have to completely move out of our building during the remodel. Designer Lynn did a great job of providing the layout and color selections. The two man onsite employees, Harry and Forrest, were professional and caring and a real pleasure to have around. If I had another project to build or renovate, my first call would be to Michael Von Behren Builders.

We have been very happy and satisfied with this company and I would highly recommend them for any remodeling and/or building you would require. This was the 2nd time I've used this company and have been more than pleased with the end results. Jerrod, our project manager and Lynn, our designer were always extremely helpful, always answered our questions and had great ideas and suggestions. I couldn't be more impressed with their professionalism and will only use them for any further work we decide to do in the future!

Lynn’s “common sense” interior design and extensive experience with kitchens and bathrooms shined brightly through the entire project. Jared was a diligent manager who made sure that all appropriate workers were at our house when scheduled. Both Lynn and Jared answered their phones every time and actually did what they said they would do. How can you not like that???

No job is too big or too small. They listen to your needs and are creative with solutions. I have used them for home renovation, small exterior work, and interior kitchen and bath work... Aways on time...with bids and work! Have used them for over 20 years.

We contracted with this company to construct an addition to our home. We wanted a sunroom (which could be used as a main level bedroom in the future) and a full ADA attached bathroom. We have been extremely pleased with the quality of the workmanship; the timeliness of the completion and, best of all, keeping within the estimate. We also appreciated the care the workmen gave to our existing home while construction was underway.

I was looking to find a contractor to change windows and fix a plumbing problem. SPA in my master bathroom was leaking water and water was coming down to the ceiling of the family room. Also two really big custom build windows needed to be changed. I got several quotes but guys were hesitant to do the fix. Mike offered his help, ordered windows and his guys replaced them without any problems. Plumbing fixed easily, drywall repaired and everything fixed perfectly. I really appreciate their work.

We have used Michael Von Behren Builders for two kitchen remodels and several bathroom remodels. They do an excellent job and most importantly I trust every person they send into my house to work. I wouldn't call anyone else!

Mike and his employees/subcontractors were a pleasure to work with. Their workmanship is of the highest quality, and they show up when they say they're going to. Mike very promptly returned every phone call we made and frequently showed up at the job site to monitor the progress. We had an issue with a bookcase that had the trim on the wrong side, and that was corrected in a very professional manner. Mike was able to be flexible as we changed our minds several times about some of the design details. The only negative is that his prices are very high, but for your money you can be assured of excellent workmanship, attention to detail and prompt responsiveness to any and all concerns of the homeowners.
