As an Electrical Engineer, I have worked with many architects in the USVI. I found Hera Psaros and Design Lab to be one of the most professional organizations. Hera and her organization are honest, very knowledgeable, and have a great rapport with sub-contractors. Project coordination and management can be difficult in the islands Hera's ability to pull the "troops" together is impressive. This creates a great team environment and cooperation among subcontractors. Design Lab's philosophy is to surround themselves with experts, layout the requirements, and hold those experts accountable. Any project will have it's share of challenges. Design Lab's ability to handle those challenges set them apart from many. It was truly my pleasure to work with this organization.

Design Lab has been a wonderful resource for our vacation villa on St Croix. The company designed our newly added, elevated concrete deck, complete with a new pool, and then oversaw the very complicated construction, including cantilevered deck, and the opening of fifteen feet of our living room wall. We also used, and continue to use, Design Lab for modernizations inside the villa. Two new beautiful, unique bathrooms have been done and four bedrooms have been redecorated, each with a different theme. All of it is terrific, and gets rave reviews.

We have had DesignLab help us with an historical property redesign and enhancement, and the design is wonderful. The details are exquisite and the look and feel is evolving wonderfully as well. When combining Hera's feel for the artistic as well as Eduardo's, and Eduardo's mastery of details, we are looking forward to the completion of this 18th century property. It will fit historically well and have the feel of the present. My wife and I both have thoroughly enjoyed working with this delightful couple who are DesignLab.

Hera Psaros and Eduardo Hermida, the owners of Design Lab, provide a broad, deep and very artistic array of skills that helped transform my house into a true show place….and comfortable home. I bought a spectacular house on the North Shore of St. Croix, but it was very dated. And I wanted a chef’s kitchen. But that entailed so much more. It needed the architectural eye and knowledge of Hera and Eduardo. Walls were removed to make the home more symmetrical, more pleasing to the eye and to increase – by a huge measure – the view. The whole house flooring was retiled, electrical and plumbing were changed… glass doors and windows were installed… and I finally had the house and view of my dreams. I think it’s the best view on the island. From EVERY vantage point in the house…thanks to Design Lab. My kitchen? Wow. Aside from the workable space (from a cooking point of view) I have a chef’s table of onyx, lit from below with fans to keep it cool. There are only a couple of high-end restaurants in the world with such a table. Hera designed it… and it is a show piece. Hera, who also has an exceptional sense of interior decorating, chose furniture and other items that make this house a home. She incorporated my antiques and my furnishings of a lifetime with newer items, and it works. Yes, there were two things she chose that I didn’t like…two out of dozens and dozens. I think that is fairly remarkable … After talking with me at length, giving me many options, she was right on 99 percent of what we did. Design Lab also oversaw all of the construction and have followed up on any issue following construction, meeting with sub-contractors and here on site until the work has been done to their – and my – satisfaction. They don’t just take on a job and leave it… they are there for the client as long as it takes. I have lived on five continents, have traveled to over 160 countries, have owned homes in many places.
