We have young kids who are growing up fast, and one of Jen’s most unique qualities is that she is not only one step ahead of us about how to change the spaces for them, but they goes the extra step to engage the kids in collaboration so they feel like they’re designing it with her. I can’t explain what a different it makes — you really have to care about your job *and* your clients in a deeper way to engage in this level of work, and Jen does this naturally. She is truly “client-first” in her mindset and the opposite of “coin-operated.” We would highly recommend her to anyone and happy to provide a live reference for her in greater detail.

Jenn- is truly a one of a kind when it comes to design her knowledge of space and structure elevates her overall design esthetic. She cares about her clients on a personal level and is curious about their lifestyle - which in turn really reflects how the design comes alive and how the client moves through the home. Jenn Messina of Jennifer Messina Interiors has been a dream to work with on my whole house remodel. I had been living in a very dated 1990's home but was stuck with how to proceed with refreshing my home. Also, as a active real estate agent in Marin County California, I see a lot of homes in my professional travels. After having several people who had worked with Jenn refer her, I decided to hire her to help me navigate the complicated process of a remodel that touched every surface because of her knowledge, experience, style but most of all because I knew I wanted someone as kind and patient working side by side with me through what can be a stressful and fraught process. Jenn has not disappointed. She started by listening and taking notes and then presenting me with concepts and then materials for my home that we winnowed down to final choices. We ordered many items such as flooring, tile, stone and appliances and plumbing fixtures in advance so that once the project started we were not slowed down by delays in supply chain which is so critical in this environment. We have been mostly on budget ( most change orders initiated by me!) and on time. We have had a few hiccups ( what large project doesn't have them) but she has been gracious and taken responsibility to helping find workable solutions. The project is 99% done now. We are in the fun and final stage with her helping me now source furniture and accessories for my new home down to the smallest detail because she wants it all to look beautiful and cohesive. Jenn has been a dream to work with over the past one and half years . I would unequivocally recommend her to anyone looking to remodel their home.

I moved into a house Jennifer designed and I can't tell you how many compliments I get on it! Now, I am building a house out of state and Jennifer hopped in seamlessly and fixed a million things! I am so happy and thankful she did. She really had such a great eye! 1000% reccomend!

We started our remodel February 2020, so you can imagine the twists and turns our project took over the next few months. Jennifer was a supportive, calm, available resource as we pushed through during a pandemic. The other thing I appreciated about Jennifer is she pushed us to make the bold -- and ultimately right! -- decisions. She never let us back off or be safe, so we would come out with a project that was not only more liveable and loveable, but that was designed!

Working with Jen was great! She has a fantastic eye for tasteful design. She encouraged directions I would have otherwise not considered, and I am totally thrilled with the results. Some more details: I worked with Jen on a new home that was new construction, 4bd 4.5ba, 3950sqft. Our project included all furniture (indoor and outdoor), rugs, motorized drapery in all rooms, wallpaper, painting, chandeliers and other lighting, embellishments & details, plants (indoor & outdoor), added stone to a fireplace wall, drilled shelves, cabinet knobs, and more. The house went from being totally bland to a complete and beautiful home.

I have worked with Jen for the last 8 years as a wallpaper installer. She has an incredible way with color and texture and of using wallpaper to accent and highlight design features. She is very professional and lovely to work with.

We had a downstairs space that felt so dark and cold. I was so frustrated with myself, and my inability to figure out how to change it. I was blown away with the ease with which Jennifer came into my space, had a vision, and made it all happen. I wasn't sure how we were going to warm up my cold black slate floors, figure out lighting with low ceilings, and place furniture in a unique space. Jen came in, laid out a plan that made sense, and made it all look so easy. After the floors were done, the painting and lighting complete, the space had a warm and tranquil feel, which, with three kids running around, was more than I had envisioned. I was in awe with how Jenn got so much done and made it all so seamless. Moreover, Jenn truly cares about the space and how you feel about it. She has a huge heart, and that goes into all of the work she does.

Working with Jen on an SF project was a pleasure. I needed a sounding board and partner on design choices for a full remodel in SF and she was just that. From meeting me at the warehouse to choose specific slabs we would use on the kitchen countertops to late night phone calls when something didn’t seem right Jen was always enthusiastically ready. She helped me realize that my space doesn’t have to be or feel small by changing a few simple things such as, painting the interior, raising all the curtain rods to make my ceiling feel higher, layer cowhides on the cold tiled floor, moved my paintings around that made more sense to view, helped me find beautiful decorative pillows, dining table and chairs, and the most comfy modern chair and ottoman we all fight over to sit in and most importantly she suggested many choices to choose from to change out all the old dated light fixtures. I learned that investing in great curtains, sconces to lamp shades would be worth the investment since I can take them with me if and when I ever move.
