We used Erin @ Kismet primarily for a color consultation - we needed help choosing a color palette for one floor of our house. She instantly caught the vibe we were looking for and effortlessly helped us select the right tones for each space. She knew her stuff - professional but not stuffy, confident but not pushy, and offered up lots of helpful suggestions and advice. We would use her again - and probably in a bigger capacity.

Erin was a delight to work with and full of great ideas that inspired my design. I didn't have a budget for a designer for my whole project but found myself in need of some help bringing things together. . . Erin was perfect!!! I'm particularly thankful for her input with my kitchen design . . . she took it from a nice new kitchen to a blow my socks off nice yet super functional with lovely touches sort of kitchen. She is super easy to deal with, ultra professional and has a good intuition for where to speak up and where to let the strong willed owner just go. I remodeled my entire 1800 sq foot apartment (ex two rooms) and Erin's input and ideas really made a big impact on both the Wow factor and practicality. I would highly recommend her.

My husband and I worked with Erin @ Kismet Design to select a whole house color palette. We painted when we first moved in and 3 years later hated most of our original selections! I decided we needed professional help this time around. The first priority was to select paint colors for second floor renovation which included two bedrooms and a bathroom. Erin listened as we explained our vision for the rooms, showed her samples of art, accessories and furniture that would fill the space in the near future. Working in an empty room still under construction, she educated us on color theory basics which was incredibly helpful in and of itself. By the end of the first hour we had selected a wall, ceiling and trim paint for the renovated upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms. The rest of the house needed to jive with the newly selected colors. We spent the second hour talking about our main floor as well as the exterior paint. We had what we thought was a buttery yellow picked out for the exterior of the home, but Erin swooped in and directed us to a better choice. Had we not consulted with her we would have ended up with a bright, lemon yellow home which was NOT what we wanted. When you are spending thousands to paint an exterior you want to make sure you get it right the first time. We truly appreciate Erin's guidance and will be applying everything we learned to future paint jobs!

Erin worked with me on the restoration of three, adjacent, turn of the century brick buildings in Hood River that had been previously painted. The buildings extended a city block, going back to brick was not an option so they had to be painted. My problem was being able to conceptualize the colors on such a large scale. Erin took the time to really listen to my concerns, and was quick to grasp my vision for the buildings. Her depth of insight into how color works allowed me to make choices with high confidence that what I got at the end of the painting would be what I envisioned in my mind. She was also very helpful in addressing an architectural problem caused by ill advised remodeling in the past. Her ability to explore concepts verbally and quickly sketch the ideas on paper again brought high confidence to my decisions. In short I was very happy with the service I got and will definitely include Erin on future projects.

I called Erin of Kismet Design to help me select colors for the exterior of my house. She gave me choices and helped me select colors that I love; worked with the contractor to select a quality paint AND helped the painters ensure that they followed the design. It was a GREAT experience because it was easy for me AND helped me select colors that I love. From there Erin helped me revitalize the interior. A dear friend said that I had the same candlesticks in the same place for 10 years - and that my house needed a big refresh. It was an overwhelming thought until Erin started working with me. We selected colors to paint the walls; determined what furniture to get rid of and what to consider buying. Erin was great in helping me learn how to buy from EBay and Consignment stores (great stuff and lower prices.. I think more interesting too). She took me shopping so I could see what was available. Through the process she taught me how to think about design and the choices I had. She can see things that weren't part of my thinking process (which is why I needed/wanted help!) and I learned so much. Now, every inch of my home feels beautiful. It's not crowded; filled with things that I like and didn't cost too much; and I now know my own style. Erin willingly worked with the contractors to make sure they were implementing what was wanted; she did lots of the legwork (sending me ideas from EBay or stores) so my time was best used. And, she told me the truth if I was suggesting something that wouldn't likely have worked. As you can tell, I highly recommend Erin as an Interior Designer. I'm over the moon happy with what we did; how she treated me, taught me and made it easy. And, my house looks and feels just perfect. I am very grateful for the opportunity to work with her. The project was finished in December 2014. I hired Kismet Design at the suggestion of my cousin a contractor. I had worked in construction 25 years and had never hired a designer. At first, l was a little skeptical about how an interior designer might add to my bottom line besides a bigger headache, but I soon found that her suggestions were practical, looked great and she streamlined the time I spent running all over town. Bringing on a designer increased my return on investment, my houses sold faster and for more money and my apartments look better, rent faster and have low turnover. Last year I asked Erin to help me make a few changes to my personal home and I could not be happier with the results.

Erin is always a pleasure to work with! She comes in with excitement about her clients projects and is always looking to exceed their expectations. Her passion is genuine. She is all about being her clients advocate at every turn. Erin really values the expertise she gets from the people she works with. That appreciation raises everyone's bar! It has been a real pleasure working with Kismet design over the last couple of years. Erin goes way out of her way to make sure her design is understood by the builder and home owner. She has gone out of her way to provide me with detailed spec sheets and education for dealing with new or challenging materials. The plans that Erin renders are the best I have seen. The jobs I have built from her designs are my personal favorites. I have worked with multiple designers over the years and none of them have lived up to Kismet Design's standards. Erin Marshall was very professional and supportive during our long project. We built a home from scratch and she was with us the whole way. She provided her expertise in choosing cabinets, counters, tiles, plumbing fixtures, lighting, flooring, wall colors and all other interior/exterior design features. We really could not have done this almost two year building project without her. She was essential to us in creating the beautiful environment that we now live in.
