Mark Russell (design consultant) helped me select furniture that completely transformed my living space. He has a wonderful artistic sense and was very accommodating to my opinions. The living room and bedroom furniture fit beautifully into the space and are sleek and comfortable. I’m very happy with my selections.

I've bought furniture and accessories from Fairhaven for over 30 years. Recently, my office was in need of a custom design large conference room table; we consulted with Fairhaven on the design and recently placed our order. The process was great in terms of responsiveness and creativity, and we are eagerly awaiting delivery.

We ordered a sectional sofa, chair, two end tables, a sidebar and a floor lamp with three lights in November of 2017. On the first scheduled delivery day in 2018, the sectional was the wrong configuration, the chair had a visibly broken leg, the console was scratched and dirty on the inside and the lamp had a dented base and dirty light shades. One of the owners admitted sending us a lamp that was a floor model. We did not order a floor model. Another owner came to our house to fix the chair which he could not fix. FF ordered a new sectional. a new chair. a new lamp and a new sidebar. They reduced our cost by a small percentage but that process felt like a rather uncomfortable negotiation. Initially, FF agreed to comp us the lamp but when the new one was finally delivered, the invoice billed us for it. After about 4 months. we finally received our furniture order. The delivery guys presented us with a really confusing multi page invoice with lots of writing on it. They assured us it had been double checked and was correct and frankly put a little bit of pressure on me to just pay the bill so they could leave. It was not correct as there was a charge for the lamp which, as previously mentioned. was to be comped. It felt like the owners were dishonest and lacked integrity. We won't be doing business with them again and will not recommend them to anyone.

When moving into a new home, my wife and I decided to invest in furniture that was a functional extension of desire to create hospitable space. I am an Episcopal priest, and view the act of providing hospitality is something that is sacred. We are delighted to live with ethically sourced, beautifully crafted, and well-designed furniture from Fairhaven Furniture. We look forward to hosting friends, family, and guests in our home with these goods. As customers, we felt respected, appreciated, and listened to as we articulated our vision for our home from showroom browsing and daydreaming through ordering and purchases, all the way to delivery and installation. Great decorating advice, amazing furniture and accessories, and incredible follow through. Fairhaven came to our home to measure and create a floor plan for our media room. A custom leather couch and ottoman were ordered and delivered. The firmness of the cushions did not seem to match the display item at their store, so they removed the couch to their upholsterer and had it firmed up perfectly- at no additional expense to us. Where else can you get decorator advice, highest quality furnishings, and incredible customer service? This will be our go to shop.

We were looking for high quality "not-traditional" furniture and we found it at Fairhaven Furniture….different pieces that fit our needs. Needed some items custom made to fit and all came as designed. Very pleased with what we have! Sales person (Grant) was very helpful while we had ideas on what we wanted, he guided us where and when we needed guidance. He was not pushy and did not direct us to higher priced items like we all have seen happen to us! We have gone back repeated times and have always walked out with what we needed. I have had many dealings with Fairhaven Furniture over decades (and the name change from Fair Haven Woodworks). Whether these were purchases of unique floor items, special orders, or joint design efforts involving their woodworkers and in-house experts, I have always come away supremely satisfied, and indeed feeling privileged to know these people. Their intelligence, creativity, and integrity continually reinforce our loyalty as customers. A recent project involved design of a bed frame and nightstands for a mechanized king-size bed. Colleen Gala worked closely and patiently with us through successive refinements of the design, to be executed in cherry and bird's eye maple. When the end result as delivered and assembled turned out to deviate from the specification in a subtle way that was important to us, the crew came back to disassemble the bed and send it back to the out-of-state woodworker, finally to return to us to our complete satisfaction, all in the most gracious spirit of good service. Naturally, we look forward to future projects with Colleen and the fine staff at Fairhaven Furniture.

I have purchased furniture off the floor, ordered customized furniture from them, and have worked with them to design completely custom furniture. In all cases, I have been completely satisfied. They carry an interesting variety of high-quality furniture (typically with a contemporary design), have relationships with a number of skilled local craftsmen, and have an eye for how to design furniture that both meets one's vision but also can feasibly be made at a reasonable cost. I highly recommend them.

Consultants from Fairhaven Furniture studied our house layout, listened to and helped refine our preferences in decor, proposed some alternatives and worked with us to bring the plan we chose to fruition. It was a wonderful experience, top to bottom. I also rely on Fairhaven Furniture for advice on and furniture for the executive offices of my business Always, always, always first rate.

My husband and I have been looking for quality bedroom furniture for many years to replace what we could afford to buy 40 yrs ago. I contacted Copeland Furniture makers via email and asked where we could see their furniture in the state of CT. They directed me to Fairhaven Furniture in New Haven, CT. Within a day, I got an email from a salesperson/decorator at Fairhaven Furniture, asking how they could help. She assured me that they carried quality furniture. We took a Sunday afternoon and drove to New Haven to see for ourselves, and what an experience it was! This was the most positive furniture shopping experience that I've ever had. The store is GREAT....a must see...a very eclectic collection of furniture and other treasures. We were not there very long when the owner approached us to show us a few really fun items that they carried, and to talk with us about his relationships with their furniture vendors....very interesting. The owner is, after many years still very excited about was he does and about each customer that comes into his store. In short, we ended up buy the bedroom set of our dreams here. The sales person who helped us, Grant, was extremely patient and helpful. We probably took up 3 hours of his time, and he never seemed to mind. He was anxious to get us the information that we wanted and needed to make a decision on our purchase. The staff was not pushy at all. As a matter of fact, the owner stopped in to see how we were doing with the bedroom furniture and spent quite a bit of time with us as well. He actually talked us out of over buying....we were considering under bed storage and he pointed out that we probably didn't need it, and that it might even take away from the beauty of the bed! This probably saved us $2000! We left Fairhaven Furniture that day, very excited about what we had seen, and told them we would be in touch. We just knew if we were going to order furniture from anyone, it would be from this store. Within a few days, we contacted Grant and placed our order. That was almost two months ago, and our furniture will be arriving in the next week....everything is special order. We can't wait to get our new bedroom furniture. Fairhaven Furniture is a store that must be visited....I read that in other reviews of the store, and couldn't understand why....now I know! Between the owner, staff and quality of what they carry, this is by far the most exciting place to visit! Beware, they are not cheap, but you pay for quality where ever you shop. We have been buying furniture and household accessories from Fairhaven Furniture for nearly thirty years, and most recently as our adult children set up their own homes it is the place where our children most want to shop. The items in our home which we acquired from Elizabeth and Kerry - our cherry dining room table, our down-stuffed curved living room sofas, side tables and bedroom furniture - are the artistic touches we love most in our home. Lao, Colleen and Mark have helped us to purchase beautiful pieces for our offices now too, from stressless chairs to sleek couches (we now own two sizes of "the Michael" sofa). On the rare occasions when we have chosen an item that is too big for the space or just doesn't quite look right the staff has helped us without hesitation, removing the furniture back to the store and helping us to make a better choice. There are times I go down to Blatchley Street with nothing in mind to buy, just for the pleasure of looking around at what's new. It's a visual feast of beautiful wood and vibrant materials. Nothing is mass produced, everything is made with care and invention.
