I cannot say enough about the work of this company. Sam created the built-ins for my bedroom remodel a while ago, and based on the quality of that work, we decided to have The Frontier Craftsmen quote our kitchen cabinets when planning our new kitchen. What a great experience. From the first time we met to discuss our needs and design ideas until the units were delivered and installed, the team at The Frontier Craftsmen consistently went above and beyond to ensure our project would really “wow” us in the end. Each member of the Frontier team clearly wanted the project to turn out perfectly and took the quality of the work personally. That said, the build quality of the cabinets is TOP notch. What impressed me most, however, was the installation. Even in our OLD house with its uneven plaster walls and general lack of level surfaces, the cabinets were all installed flawlessly. When it was time to move on to other parts of the project, the quality of the cabinet installation was the anchor for aligning the woodwork, tile, and flooring in the rest of the room. There are many things in my home that I second guess from time to time, but the projects that The Frontier Craftsmen have done for me are not one of them. Anytime I need quality woodwork that meets my high standards, their number is the one I will call.

We cannot recommend David and Crockett's Cabinetry highly enough! From start to finish, David's care for and commitment to our total satisfaction delighted us.
We hired Crockett's to make a wall of cabinetry for our gutted master bathroom; we received a stunning and practical (so full of storage!) work of art. The craftsmanship reigns supreme, and the stain is indescribably beautiful -- sometimes we just stand and admire it! Our contractor, who has worked with many high end cabinet makers, gushed about David's ability to stain wood so beautifully and consistently, especially with the unique stain we selected (after several attempts to achieve a version of grey). The final stain is such a gorgeous mix of brown and grey that Crockett's will now offer it to their customers. David also supplied the amazing quartz countertop that looks as if it was manufactured to match the cabinet stain. Suffice it to say that we are more than pleased with the end product -- we love our new cabinets.
In addition to an excellent product, David excels at communication and project management. He had excellent suggestions for our space, and his communication was quick, clear, and complete. He truly cared that we were happy with our choices and would offer valuable input when necessary or requested. He communicated easily with our contractor, coordinating efforts and making the process progress smoothly. Every aspect of our interaction with David and Crockett's was outstanding. Treat yourself to the joy of working with a wonderful craftsman, fantastic project manager, and just plain nice guy! Do yourself the favor of hiring Crockett's Cabinetry.

Comment from Frontier Craftsmen:
What a wonderful feeling to know that our work has made someone so happy with the outcome. The customer made some great choices for their bathroom. Being without a kitchen or bathroom during a remodeling project can be very disruptive and stressful, and we're glad that we were able to minimize that stress and help make this a fun project for them. And their extremely competent contractor was a pleasure to work with. I'm just grateful we were able to work their project into our very tight schedule.

I can't count how projects Dave has done for us but it's many and I will call him again if we ever have another one but the most recent was our kitchen remodel. The communication between him, other sub contractors, and us was key to making the project successful. There were many meetings to make sure we were getting what we wanted. With the help of his knowledge, he let us know all of our options. He was prompt throughout the project and the craftsmanship of the cabinets was impeccable! I love my new kitchen and I will recommend Dave to my friends (In fact I did and he has completed projects for a few of them which they are very happy with)

Had a very poor experience with this contractor. Contracted a complete kitchen and master bath for a new construction. Design work was poor, when we contracted custom cabinets we expected them to our exact specifications. Instead we got our concept with Crockett’s personal preference on size and function.
This was the only contractor on the entire project (and there were more than a dozen) who expected full payment prior to completion of the project. Watch out for their contract wording “full payment upon substantial completion” as their concept of substantial completion was cabinets with no doors. In fact they refused to install the doors until after they had full payment in their pocket.
This is the second custom kitchen we have contracted. The first experience was great, any modification / correction request was handled immediately with no complaint or charge. Crockett’s will upcharge at every opportunity, the slightest modification will cost you. Also if you point out an imperfection you will be told it was someone else’s fault. Unfortunately for us, the contractor we had for our first kitchen had since retired or we would never have had to endure the unpleasant experience of working with Crockett’s.
Also beware Crockett’s is not a full service cabinet shop in such that they do not fully produce the cabinets in—house. Most of the real machining work is farmed out to another vendor. If I had to classify Crockett’s I would say they are cabinet assemblers / finishers. Probably one of the reasons true “custom” work is limited. Numerous times throughout the project we were told our requests could not be fully met because they needed to maintain standard sizes. In my opinion if you advertise yourself as custom cabinet makers the word standard should not be in your vocabulary. A true custom cabinet maker will find a way to meet each and every one of their customers’ requirements, even if they have to hand make special pieces to do so.
Rating our experience in one sentence I would say “Crockett’s Cabinetry places profit before customer experience / satisfaction”.

Comment from Frontier Craftsmen:
We truly regret that this customer did not share the satisfaction that our other customers have enjoyed. Getting a new kitchen or bathroom should be a fun and pleasurable experience, and we work very hard to make that a reality for our customers.
Building a new house can be stressful. Being your own general contractor, as well as doing much of the work yourself, as this customer did, only compounds that stress. We suspect that those stresses may have carried over into our interaction with the customer, casting the easily resolved issues that arise on any project, and that were readily addressed, seem more negative than they really are.
The customer raises some points that need clarification. Regarding the “cabinets with no doors”, several doors incurred damage on the job site, as circumstances there prevented us from hanging the doors on the cabinets and placed them in harms way. Rather than refinishing only the injured doors, all the doors in that room were refinished to avoid even the slightest possibility that there may be a subtle difference between refinished doors and those that would not have been refinished. There was no cost for this service. In response to another point, Crockett’s Cabinetry and Woodworking LLC is indeed a full service custom cabinet shop. We have partnered with a local shop to have cabinet parts milled to our specifications on a CNC. This gives Crockett’s the benefit of the accuracy and efficiency of a CNC, and makes it possible to stay a small shop able to provide the personalized attention larger shops can’t always provide. For truly unique pieces, including several on this project, all operations are performed in our shop to ensure the desired outcome.
With the exception of one remaining detail, which only recently came to our attention, all of the customers concerns have been resolved to their approval. While we may not be able to add this customer to our long list of other very happy customers, many of whom have said such very nice things about us, we take comfort in knowing that they have a beautiful kitchen and bathroom with high quality, custom cabinetry that they will be able to enjoy for many years to come.

It was a pleasure working with Dave and his crew. We loved Mary's designs for the cabinetry. They went above and beyond our expectations!

I almost hesitate to write this, as I wouldn't want to decrease his availability to me! David is absolutely fantastic, for whatever project you are working on. His work is impeccable, and his professionalism is without compare. Small jobs, big jobs, it's all terrific. Crockett's Cabinetry is my first choice for any work I need done, and it should be yours.

We had a very large kitchen remodel (River Oaks Kitchen - pictures are found in the photo section) - complete with the typical cabinets, plus a stand up snack bar, large island, bar area, and command center. We were beyond pleased with Crockett's. The cabinets are high quality and of course lovely, but his attention to detail, care for his clients needs, and calming personality (in the midst of what can be very stressful), set him apart from others!
Some key examples:
- None of the "standard" stain colors were what I envisioned. David mixed several custom blends - and then ordered additional stain samples. He kept trying until I was happy!
- When working the details David would create mock ups so we could visualize what the end product would look like.
- We purchased the granite through David and he handled all the details for us, including being on site during install.
- Mary was an amazing designer - who helped us see what our space could be. She listened to us and turned our ideas into reality.
- Many contractors disappear after completion of the project. David has been available to help us as we have questions and concerns (for example - we chipped the countertop and he facilitated getting it repaired for us).
- Our children adored him. This may seem trivial, but it was very meaningful to us. They were always with us when we were planning and often were "needy"... he was always very nice to them, showed them different things in his shop, pulled out art pencils for them to play with, even jump roped with them once!!
We would highly recommend Crockett's to anyone!

Comment from Frontier Craftsmen:
What a wonderful family to work with. Their beautiful house was limited to a tiny, cramped kitchen, isolated from the rest of the house. In conjunction with the general contractor, Mary designed a kitchen that called for the removal of several walls, creating a wonderful open space that includes the kitchen, dining room and family room, providing the family with far more together time. The rich, dark finish and the active pattern of the granite give the space a warm, yet elegant feel. This was another fun project for us, especially the jump roping.
David Yurk was very pleasant and easy to work with, always listening to our ideas and concerns. His communication with us was excellent, and his help in coordinating all aspects of our first renovation was priceless. He is a true craftsman and the quality of his work has been noticed by everyone who has seen our new kitchen. His installation was fast, efficient, and well-timed with our other contractors so that our kitchen was ready in a reasonable time.
He worked with us to design a unique island which provided a perfect work area and large comfortable dining space, a bookshelf facing our living room, and even a perfect spot for our
dog's bowls and food. We LOVE it!

Comment from Frontier Craftsmen:
It's always gratifying when we can make a kitchen remodel an enjoyable, problem-free experience. While we did the engineering that made the custom island work, credit for the design belongs to Mary Grunow of Alive Design LLC, who brought the vision and inspiration for the project. This family was a pleasure to work with through-out the project. We're happy they are so pleased with the out come. And we are even happier that the four-legged member of the family is also pleased.
Crockett's Cabinetry was fabulous! David helped us through the entire kitchen remodeling project. David had wonderful suggestions for making the kitchen look like it belonged in a 1930's home. He invited us to his workshop and showed us how our cabinets would be made. We appreciated that he stayed on schedule and kept us updated. He was very upfront about cost and willing to work with our budget. There were no hidden cost. He had great ideas for the kitchen design. He suggested a kitchen pull-out for utensils that we love. David is very talented and a delight to work with.

Comment from Frontier Craftsmen:
It was exciting being a part of this project, transforming a modest, old house into a stunning lakeside retreat. We had fun working with the customers, bringing our ideas together to create a beautiful kitchen, one we are very proud of. A wonderful experience, start to finish.
