I hired Gail to help me with colors for my small cape in Portland. I had some favorite furnishings and rugs to work with but couldn't pull it all together myself. Gail came to the rescue with her wealth of experience and keen eye. she asked good questions to help her determine the direction to go in. She kept an eye on costs while providing great guidance and expertise. The project is underway and going to be fabulous! Gail gave me the advice I needed to make it all work!

I hired Gail to update and refresh my rental unit. Even though I was working within a relatively tight budget, Gail approached the project with fresh and inspiring ideas and helped me make good decisions and find unexpected solutions. She paid close attention to my short- and long-range plans for the space, and came up with creative solutions for bridging those goals. She was respectful of both the long history I have with my building and the need to modernize it to reach a broader market. I now have an inviting contemporary space that honors the traditional materials and splendid details present in my 19th century home. I am confident that the unit will show well and wear well. Gail is extremely knowledgable about materials and design, and has an extraordinary sense of beauty and function. At the same time, she is able to work within a budget and with materials and objects at hand. I highly recommend her!

Gail Gross has been an incredible in helping us develop a vision and now a plan for a more comfortable basement/family room space. We have many variables that had kept us from moving forward, and Gail has helped us navigate a plan. Our decor needs to accommodate a 4 year old, teenagers, and my parents when they visit. Gail has been a tremendous help in recommending affordable, attractive, and reasonable ideas that will meet the needs of the various players. She puts deep thought into her recommendations and suggests ideas only after she gets to know a family, their styles, their priorities, and their values. I feel extremely fortunate to have met Gail Gross. Our project is far from finished, but already, we have benefited to a remarkable degree from her expertise. We worked with Gail for over a year on a renovation of a Philadelphia row home which involved renovating two bathrooms, redoing the lighting throughout, converting a wood burning fireplace to gas with a new surround, updating the back patio (adding an outdoor kitchen), painting the whole interior and refinishing floors and replacing carpeting. She was terrific shepherding us through the numerous decisions, gently pushing us past our boring comfort zone. We are thrilled with the results!

I worked with Gail Gross of Gail Gross Design and Interiors and benefited from her deep expertise in lighting, kitchen and bathroom design. It was a pleasure to work with her because she listens deeply, and can intuit the environment you want. She created a space that is beautiful and functional. Gail doesn’t sell you a point of view. Instead, she is curious about what you enjoy in your home and strives to discern your personal aesthetic. She incorporated my favorite objects and furniture, and advised me on artwork purchases. (She ran a gallery for many years before practicing interior design.) Small changes made a big difference in my two bedroom condominium. Her ideas provided both pathway and destination which made the space feel special for me and my guests. I got a lot of compliments! I am currently working with Gail designing my new house in mid-coast Maine. I can rely on her guidance to create a dynamic and interesting space. I am also looking forward to some new artwork and incorporating some furniture made by Maine artisans.

I brought Gail back to continue renovations on my house. This is the third time I have worked with Gail. She has made it easy to work in phases; we are redoing a Master Bath this time. I appreciate her ability to help me visualize opportunities and realize the goals for my home. She is good at interpreting my ideas and addressing any questions that I have. I would recommend her.

Ms. Gross helped me select colors when I repainted my apartment. She directed me to paints with high amounts of pigment. These gave the walls of my space the depth of color that I wanted. One green paint SPRING SPROUT GREEN has proven to be particularly satisfying over time because it changes so much with the light through the day and through the seasons. She also advised me to add one until of blue to the white I used for the ceilings which gave the color a glow like snow. Another helpful suggestion was to bring the ceiling color down about an inch on the walls. This gives a very satisfying finish to the rooms a bit like crown moulding. The result of her consultation with me have proven very satisfying over time. She also helped me realign the room use in my apartment. The dining/ living room area was completely re -arranged into a much more open and useful space. The two bedrooms were switched resulting in a larger office/ TV room space and a smaller sleeping area. These changes have been very satisfying. Later (two years ago ) she found a new sofa for my living room that proved to be just what was needed and she found the piece for a very reasonable cost.

I recently downsized to a smaller one bedroom apartment. After great experience with Gail designing a kitchen and bathroom for me, I asked her to help re-purpose my existing furniture for my new place. After drawing sketches, and researching options, she helped me decide what I should get rid of and what to keep. She helped create a work area in my now much smaller bedroom. She also hung my art work in a way that made both design and emotional sense. There will be other smaller jobs coming up- I am retired and can't re-do everything from scratch, but Gail is great with modifying existing spaces with fresh ideas.

Gail is particularly good at matching desires with deliverables. She has a unique way of probing and interpreting the client's goals and aspirations and interpreting them into expected deliverables. Experience in lighting design, fabrics, as well as an educator in interior design. Receptive to client input and also provides pointed feedback. Easy to work with, and professional business acumen. She has been instrumental in helping to develop a plan for encompassing my wishes in the overall remodel of my Center City condominium. She facilitates a customer focused implementation plan which could be immediate, or accomplished over time. Gail will not disappoint.
