Our master bath renovation was masterfully done. Kevin (Sensitive Information Hidden) and his team are great listeners, excellent communicators, and skillful craftsmen. As a result, from the planning stage through the renovation everything went smoothy. Work began when all of relevant supplies were in their warehouse and all of the craftsmen were dedicated to our project, so there were no delays in the work. Our job was assigned a supervisor, an excellent carpenter, who was on-site for the entire project. He was fastidious in a good way, not satisfied unless his work and the work of outside contractors (e.g. for the mirror, shower doors, tile) was perfect. Our 'brand new' bathroom is beautiful and without fault. We could not be more pleased, both with the final product and the service and attention we received all along the way.

I would highly recommend Gilday! We used Gilday for a major kitchen and family room renovation. They completed the work on-time and were very professional with respect to scope of work and costs. Leslie Roosevelt, who helped us with the project design, was highly professional and delightful to work with. Mike Kisner, who oversaw the project construction, was extremely respectful of our home and space throughout the construction process. The new kitchen has made cooking and entertaining more fun, and it makes it easier to come together as a family.

We have used Gilday Renovations for three major projects on our Chevy Chase, DC home, dating back to the 1980s. Because we were happy with the earlier projects, we recently used Gilday to renovate our kitchen and laundry room. Based on this most recent experience, I would not recommend Gilday. What should have been a 5 - 6 month project following demolition of the old kitchen and laundry room turned into a 14-month project, with lengthy delays where nothing got done. So many things went wrong with the project that they are too numerous to cite, but they include (i) multiple mistakes and defects in construction of the cabinets by the manufacturer (Greenfield) that Gilday recommended as the top of the lines it offered, which took months to resolve and some of which required multiple replacement pieces, (ii) lighting issues -- both under-cabinet lighting that created large areas of dark shadow and recessed ceiling lighting where the cans repeatedly went bad -- that Gilday did not know how to fix (we ultimately figured out how to address the issues based on extensive research on our part), (iii) caulking and painting that had to be redone multiple times (and we ultimately gave up trying to fix the different kinds of gloss on the sides of the refrigerator cabinet since it was done wrong twice), and (iv) frequent long delays in Gilday’s response to emails and scheduling of work. The best work on the project was done by the two carpenters, both the one who initially worked on the project before leaving the company and the one who replaced him, but they usually worked with no helpers, which contributed to the very slow pace of the project. Notwithstanding all the many problems that plagued the project, we are pleased with how the kitchen and the laundry room look (and hope the workmanship will stand the test of time). But getting to this point was very painful, and we will not use Gilday again.

The men and women of Gilday Renovations are high-quality, high integrity professionals. We could not have predicted a better experience and result when we set out to take on a major addition to our home in Potomac. We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who has a "vision" for an addition or renovation but does not know where or how to begin. They worked with us from concept to completion. The result was superb and NEVER did we feel that our needs, desires, or concerns were not shared by the team at Gilday.

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with the Gilday team on the renovation/addition of our kitchen, butler's pantry, family room and powder room in 2016. Tom Gilday, the owner, provided accurate pre-construction estimates and completed the job on time and on budget. Gilday's staff is professional, organized and very pleasant to work with and has excellent relationships with all the subs. Gilday's team took special care to ensure the finished project met or exceeded our expectations. Their commitment to details and conscientious attitude were outstanding. A special mention of thanks for a job well done goes to Ellen, the kitchen designer, John, the project manager, and Keith, the lead carpenter. Bravo!

Gilday Renovations is the BEST outfit you could work with for building/renovating your home. I have used them for three pretty big projects. I was happy from start to finish. They are attentive to everything, professional, fair, trustworthy, and creative. Everyone I worked with could not have been more helpful and skilled. They defy all the jokes about how you'll feel about contractors at the end of your job ---- you'll feel so lucky to have found and used them ! Also, they have been exceptionally responsive to any questions or issues that have arisen since, taking care of anything in the months and years after our projects were completed.

More expensive than other design build firms but attention to detail and attentiveness to the client is unrivaled. We have used Gilday for two subsequent projects and have been equally as pleased with the finished product.

Gilday Renovations performed a complete renovation -- top to bottom -- on out 1972 Contemporary home in Bethesda. Gilday is the finest caliber firm to work with! The team that created our home -- from the owner, Tom Gilday, to the project manager to the foreman and every single sub-contractor that was under the Gilday wing, were the utmost professionals with the highest standard of work ethic and knowledge. Their commitment to detail, budget, timeline, artistic and architectural integrity -- plus their outstanding listening skills with no ego blocking the creative process -- rendered our home a stunning success. We highly recommend them for renovation you may be considering.

We loved working with Gilday Renovations. Not only were Tom Gilday and Karen Gilday Witts absolute professionals, they were kind, thoughtful and incredibly helpful! They listened carefully to my ideas and helped me adapt them so they would work with our space. We are in LOVE with the covered outdoor area they designed and built for us. Since it was completed we have had many friends over who cant believe how amazing it is. Since it has been completed I have received so many calls asking for Gilday's contact information. I also have to mention the lead carpenter on our job, Wilson, is the absolute best!! I WELCOMED his arrival at 7 am every morning! As with everyone else in the company, he is a true professional and his work is impeccable. His humor was also a highlight. We are current customers of Gilday going through a year long renovation. We are having a large renovation done to our side porch to create office space and also adding on a family room, master suite and bath. We also are creating an open floor plan, knocking out walls to create a larger kitchen and pantry. Two bathrooms are being updated as well. We started this project with Gilday in the summer with many design meetings at our house and their office. Kevin and his team and particularly his lead carpenter on our job, Patrick Curtice are amazing. It is so nice to have professionals with you throughout this process. They are very responsive and respectful of our space. At all times, even when a small crew is brought is to demolish, the lead carpenters are on site. Kevin also is on site on a weekly basis and is always willing to answer any questions. The work so far is top notch and we are no longer worried about what the next year will be like as we go through this and live here at the same time! Leslie, Chris and Kevin along with carpenters Pat, Sean and John are a pleasure to work with and we highly recommend them.
