Gardens of the Wine Country

Gardens of Wine country has been doing yard maintenance for 2 years. Things started strong, but after a few months deteriorated. Eventually the +1hr weekly visits turned into 10-20min. Grass is looking very sad and hedges untrimmed. At one point apparently a new crew showed up and shredded my irrigation system while trimming some of the plants. My whole yard turned into a fountain! And they did not fix, just threw away the parts of the irrigation system they cut up. Communication with the owner and manager is sparse at best taking weeks for a reply. Only my cancelation got a quick answer. Maybe some of their other crews are better? But I can't recommend based on my experience.

Alan listened to what we wanted and executed with even more artistry. We love the front yard design, that it is drought friendly, and easy to care for.

Alan Kostelnik, the owner of Gardens of the Wine Country, has done a nice job evaluating our 4+ acre property and designing and installing our landscaping in stages each year. We have also been very pleased with his employees who come twice a month to maintain our plantings and irrigation system This is a multitalented group who seem to be able to handle any project. We hired Gardens of the Wine Country 3 years ago to help with landscape maintenance. This includes a range of activities, depending on the time of the year. In the winter months the emphasis is more on preparing for the growth season ... for example, cutting back ornamental grasses. mulching and composting, weed management, pruning fruit trees and roses, etc. In the summer, the emphasis is on the management of foliage, for example pruning grapes, dead heading roses, pest management, weed management, cutting back plant material were necessary to keep everything in proper balance, etc. Gardens of the Wine Country are not the "blow and go" type of gardeners; rather, they are a full service outfit that are very knowledgeable about landscape management. Their gardeners are personable and dependable and not in the least bit intrusive. I recommend them.

Alan and his crew from Gardens of the Wine Country recently designed and re-landscaped out front yard. They did a beautiful job. The design of the new planter box and garden lay-out was just lovely and his crew was professional and hardworking. Alan himself was always responsive to our questions and concerns and resolved any issue immediately. We were thrilled with the final product and to this day have neighbors asking us "Who did that beautiful job on your front yard?"

Wow, Gardens of the Wine Country has taken a complete disaster area vegetable garden and is turning it into a beautiful center piece on our 2 acre property! It will be my pride and joy when finished. I grow tons of veggies and have two greenhouses in this same fenced area where I indulge my succulent addiction. I will post pictures when finished! Gardens of the Wine Country has my garden looking better than ever. They are very dependable. They see what needs attending without having to tell them. Alan responds to any questions or requests in a prompt manner. I find them to provide very good value.
