The best 2.5 hours spent. Eva came up with some wonderfully creative yet practical solutions to a small space. Before she arrived she sent a very clear email outlining how the session would run. That coupled with a really clear communication style, we got the most out of our time. She had some very clever suggestions that I would never have considered but they are sure to make all the difference. I can’t wait to get her back to sort out a few more conundrums! Highly recommend.

Eva came to my house for a 2 hour consultation, she spent 15 mins asking about house / family, 15 mins measuring rooms, 60 mins drawing out the floor plan of my house (as it is), then 25 mins discussing what she had sketched, 5 mins packing up and leaving. She basically had just sketched our down stairs as it is and removed the wall I already said we were planning on removing. She sketched the bathrooms upstairs and just moved the toilet / sink from one wall to another. She said the 25 mins was brainstorming time, of which there was none. She did not bring one idea to the brief, I had to make all of the suggestions and then she would just add that to the sketch. Eva had nothing to contribute and even got quite cranky when I expressed confusion as to what she had sketched. Then promptly at the 2 hour mark she left surely aware that we her customers were disappointed. All I have to show for the consultation is a nice sketch of my house as it is and another copy with my suggested changes. Zero input from the architect I paid to give her suggestions and expertise. Really disappointing. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Exceptional service. We got a divided partitioned wall between our office area and sitting room. Good quality sound wall built with retractable doors. We were mesmerised by the quality. Originally we were thinking of putting just a partition door, Will advised strongly to go this way. All done in 2 days and very affordable too. We are so thrilled.

Well the best money spent 2.5 hours with Eva. Her enthsiasm abd passion for improving her clients home is admirable. Wow what super ideas she came up with in that time all of which will be incorporated into the design of our home. Eva provided a house consultation for us a few years ago. We finally found a builder this year and carried out the recommendations pretty much exactly as suggested. We are delighted with how it turned out and want to pass on our gratitude on an excellent design. It was not straightforward so her expertise was much appreciated. Our downstairs layout works much better for us now and the kitchen much brighter and roomier. Top marks. Thanks so much.

I am currently in the process of converting a 2 bedroom space into a 1 bedroom self contained unit with kitchen sitting room and bathroom. When it came to maximising the small space I had I found it very difficult to plan out the new layout. I was delighted to find Eva who made it all seem so easy. She visited my place for 2 hours and after the meeting I had a clear idea of how the area would work. I am very excited to get everything underway now that I know where everything is going. This summer we will be returning to a house where we haven’t lived for 13 years, and with a completely different family configuration, so I contacted Eva for some help with updating the house and making a few changes. She listened carefully to what I had to say, asked some pertinent questions and walked through the house with me before focussing on what she could best help me with on this occasion - the optimal use of the space we have, taking into account our changed needs, and also looking into the future a little when there may be further changes that might affect how we live in the house. Mindful of a previous renovation, which still very much serves its purpose, she came up with two alternative sets of plans for each of two problematic areas in the house - a former dining room which had become a ‘middle room’, after the kitchen was extended, and is starved of light and has no clearly defined purpose; and two small interlinking bedrooms mainly separated by a small unused fireplace and chimney breast. I left Eva with the most recent plans of the house and gave her some time and space to consider the possibilities and make her drawings, and when I returned, half an hour or so later, Eva talked me through her ideas and answered any questions I had about her suggestions. By the end of the session I had a set of very helpful drawings that I could lay over the origina plans and which will be very useful when we start talking to a builder. For me Eva’s help has been invaluable. Her ideas were very much in line with what I was hoping to do, as well as presenting possibilities I hadn’t thought of or hadn’t thought possible, and this has concentrated and clarified my own thinking on the project. She is very practical in her approach and articulates her ideas very clearly. I am now much more focussed on what we would like to do, and I might consult Eva again when the project is further along and I’m in need of some ideas for storage, etc.

I have availed of Eva’s excellent service on two occasions. I was initially drawn to Eva as l could see that she offers not just the knowledge and skills of a qualified and experienced architect but also because her projects reveal a very practical approach to the requirements of everyday living . The first project on which Eva helped was the redesign of our teenage daughter’s bedroom . Eva first listened carefully to the issues we had identified in advance and asked very relevant and detailed questions on our expectations for the room , She then promptly came up with three alternatives solutions to the room which she drew to scale. The drawings were clear and wonderfully explained ( in a very enjoyable and fun chat ) ! Ultimately we settled on a plan which combined elements of two of the three proposals . In her approaches , Eva alerted us to some solutions which already existed in the space which we had not identified . These included exploiting the slightly higher than average height of the room and making more flexible use of existing furniture by repositioning and adapting it. ( Our daughter loved the addition of castors to a chest of drawers which now works as a room divider as well as providing storage ) . As a result of Eva’s involvement we avoided some of the more drastic interventions we had considered ( eg structural ones ) as well as expense by reusing existing possibilities in the room and its furnishings. The room continues to evolve over time as Eva’s solution had an eye to functional and aesthetic longevity . The second project for which we sought Eva’s input was very different . We asked Eva to look at existing ( excellent ) architectural plans for a modest new building and to advise on storage issues and possibilities. Eva helped us to ensure that we had addressed all our storage needs . She alerted us to possibilities that existed in unlikely places eg for concealed drawers at change of levels and she helped us combine and rationalise the plans for shoe and boot storage , utility space and drying laundry. As an architect Eva entirely respected the integrity of the original plans but with her very practical and imaginative eye , she alerted us to potential space that may have been overseen and places which required detailed thought . Eva’s advise is always underpinned by a clear understanding of how people actually use their living spaces . Her approach is clear and constructive and resourceful while being honest about the inherent limitations of certain spaces .( and of course budgets ) . She never loses sight of the priorities and focuses on providing solutions which are realistic and practically achievable. The advice of of a qualified architect who has such experience in maximising space , light and storage in the format which Eva delivers it is a special and genuinely unique offering . I asked Eva to help me with my home study/workspace as I was trying to find a proper place to work from home. Eva was extremely professional, arriving on time before sitting down to discuss my needs, listening carefully before she made measurements and then drew up some options. The consultation lasted 2 hours, during which she went through two really useful options, created specifically for me during that time, going through each one, discussing the pros and cons which was very helpful. I was quite clear about my needs and so selected the option that best suited my circumstances. This consultation was very worthwhile and worth every penny, saving me time and money had I gone elsewhere. I couldn’t recommend this service more highly.
